'Road Rules' Cast Member Killed in Crash
Tue, Oct 22, 2002 07:54 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Michelle Parma, a contestant on the third season of MTV's "Road Rules," was killed Saturday (Oct. 19) in a car accident. She was 27.

The former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader was traveling on Interstate 45 from Dallas to Houston with her cousin Mandie Parma, 28, who also died in the accident. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, another driver lost control of his vehicle and crossed the median, hitting the Parmas' Jeep head on. After their vehicle was hit, it was struck by another car.

Both Michelle and Mandie Parma died at the scene, according to MTV.com.

Parma appeared in the 1996 Europe cast of "Road Rules." Along with her fellow teammates, she ran with the bulls in Spain, celebrated Bastille Day in France and nursed two sick seals back to health and set them free in Amsterdam. Parma most recently appeared on the "Road Rules Extreme Challenge" last year.

"Michelle had a spirit about her that just pulled you in," says Jonathan Murray and Mary-Ellis Bunim, creators and executive producers of "Road Rules." "She was one of the nicest, most genuine people to ever be on one of our reality shows. We will all miss her terribly."

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Unity Church of Dallas. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations be made to the United Network for Organ Sharing: 1100 Boulders Parkway, Suite 500, Box 13770, Richmond, VA 23225-8770. Remembrances can be sent to the family in care of Bunim/Murray Productions, Box 10421, Van Nuys, CA 91410.
