'Bachelorette' Reject Gets 'Extra' Gig

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Charlie Maher, you're on the clock.
 
Maher, the final guy that "Bachelorette" Trista Rehn rejected in favor of poetry-writing firefighter Ryan Sutter, is going back on camera as a correspondent for the syndicated entertainment-news show "Extra."
 
The former financial adviser will cover the constant stream of premieres, parties and other events around Los Angeles that have gift bags and draw famous faces. Maher's occasional segments for the show will be called "Hollywood Nights."  
 
"Trista wasn't the only one being charmed by Charlie; America was [too]," says Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, senior executive producer of "Extra." "Now audiences can see him use his charisma on celebrities."  
 
According to the press release announcing Maher's hiring, said charisma has already been let loose. "Jennie Garth became enamored with [Maher] at a recent party," the release says. "He's already made actresses Tea Leoni and Kelly Preston blush."  
 
Garth, Leoni and Preston are all married, to Peter Facinelli, David Duchovny and John Travolta, respectively.
