I hate to admit that I got (kind of) hooked by this show.  I don't watch it each time, but I'm mesmerized by these people who are willing to have someone else pick their spouse for them.

I'm hoping Kevin and Jill win tonight.  Billie Jean has too many issues right now, and really shouldn't be marrying and reproducing.  Cheesy

 Anybody else watching this show?

I am, just finished in fact and....

SPOILER
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Jill stands up Kevin at the altar, but the wrap up text at the end of the show says they agreed after talking about it to continue their engagement and he will be moving to New York shortly.

Tony stands up Billie Jean, but clearly feels like a horrible person for doing so and sheds some genuine tears and tries to talk himself back out of it.  He pleads with her in a private talk after the mess to consider dating him down the line more or less.  The wrap up text shows she is planning to move to los angeles and that they are still dating more or less.

Thanks for the spoiler space.  I popped in here prior to the show and you saved me. Smiley

I felt so bad for Billie Jean.  She really did have her heart on her sleeve, no matter how nutty she may be, she was still deeply hurt.  Tony should have told her before letting her say "I do".  That was cruel.

I agree with you, UkraineMom, about the fireworks and choosing morality over money as well!  I would have expected the fireworks to be from Jill's dad, but he contained himself pretty well.  If Kevin had been the one to hurt his little "Jill Lawrence (or whatever it is)", I bet he'd be a little more vocal.

All in all, it did turn out well.  I can't imagine dating in front of a camera.  Perhaps they can all find love with each other in RL.  I wouldn't count on it with Tony and Billie Jean, but I think Kevin and Jill had something genuine... or is that just the dreamer in me?

I don't know about the rest of you but last night found me in a pool of tears.  As far as I'm concerned - nothing about this show turned out - "....and they lived happily ever after".  Rhune's word: mess  That's exactly how I feel - this was a mess.......

Jill was just as wrong as Tony..... they should have said something first... but maybe in the moment of truth they just couldn't go through with it... Sad

I agree, both should have done the right thing and talked about it beforehand - especially in Billie Jean's case. It was taking it too far with her.  On the other hand I was glad to see Tony shed some genuine tears over it and show something other than the carefully reserved/controlled appearance he's given up to this point.  It was nice to see he really did care, and maybe that's what surprised himself the most.  I don't think until it was over and he was sobbing, he knew he cared that much. It was interesting to hear his best man tell his father (although it was clear his father didn't like hearing it) that Billie Jean was the better matched to Tony than everyone else was seeing and that he felt Tony had put more into this than any prior relationships, when Tony left the table the night before the wedding. I agree that they will probably never work out in the real world.

Jill and Kevin....I thought they had genuine chemistry and attraction and would have made a great couple for each other.  He was a little more reserved and cautious and she was more assertive and wild, but both of them within a degree where it complimented each other rather than created conflict.   They were very happy together until their families became involved.  It was very clear to me that Kevin's family did not approve of his being there at all, regardless of who the girl was.  This was not a proper way to meet a woman and they seemed pretty dead set against accepting her before they even met her.  Shame on Kevin's brother, how completely manipulative and unsupportive.  They all needed a good ass chewing, in my opinion.  Despite all that, Kevin recognized he was in love with Jill and really intended to go through with it, he really wanted to marry her.  She was so worried he'd let his family make his decisions, but in the face of it, he didn't do what they wanted, despite tremendous pressure from them (most of it delivered passive agressively rather than openly).  In the end it was Jill who caved in because of her family and the doubts they jumped all over, all of them directed at Kevin's family.  I was really surprised by this and I realized in the end it was because in the editing, it was always Kevin expressing his doubts and then Jill expressing doubts about whether Kevin would go through with it.  We were never left to question whether Jill would go through with it or not, it was always about him.  So when she said, "I don't" I was really surprised.  I was very pleased to hear they were still engaged and that he's planning on moving to New York.  I think if the two of them put everything else aside (the cameras, the strange setting, the family, etc) and just give a genuine go at it, they have as much of a chance as any regular couple who met in any other setting. They really are compatible and made each other happy until they let everyone else get involved.

I think, regardless of what we're led to believe about Jill and Kevin getting together, in the end Jill will be swayed again by her overbearing father.

I'm wondering too, if (as we were told) they're still engaged - is she still wearing the ring?  I wonder if she had to give it back to the show.

A little thought on Billie Jean and Tony.  I think Tony has severe issues in the "honesty" department.  And as far as Billie Jean is concerned (IMO), her intelligence is of the "low wattage" variety.  I don't know how many times Tony told her he didn't love her and "hinted" that he probably never would.

Ahhh heck.  The ending to this show is nearly the sham we were offered up in Joe Millionaire.  I'm really disappointed today....really really disappointed that I spent so much time watching it and got emotionally "involved".
