TLC Expands to Sunday 'Spaces'
Fri, May 9, 2003 04:53 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "Trading Spaces," the home improvement show that has helped change both home design and TLC's entire schedule, will be taking up residence on Sunday nights as well.

The original episodes will focus on a "family" theme. The new teams will be comprised of two to four family members with at least one teenage or "tween" (ages 9-13) child. No doubt, within each domestic clan, extensive remodeling will be done.

"One of the most dramatic questions at the heart of 'Trading Spaces' is 'How well do you know your neighbor?'," says Roger Marmet, general manager, TLC. "Now, we're giving family members a chance to find out how well they work together, and giving viewers the chance to watch their favorite series on both Saturday and Sunday nights."

The Sunday episodes will be hosted by actor Joe Farrell. A veteran of regional theater productions, Farrell also appeared in the national touring company of "Titanic," giving him something in common with Saturday host Paige Davis, who also has a musical theater background. The Indiana native and Yale graduate has sung for Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

New designers and carpenters will be added to the show's stable, while veterans Doug Wilson and Laurie Smith will crossover to share their vision with more unsuspecting home owners.

Family-sized "Trading Spaces" will premiere on July 6 at 7 p.m. ET.
