For Love or Money 1 & 2

This show is so bad it is good, does anyone else think this.

First off we have a clueless bachelor, and beautiful gold digging bachelorettes.  And to top it off the winning bachelorette wins $1M.

Ok, I know this show is very cheesy, but I love cheese.

On the first show Evan oops I mean Rob was trying to compliment one of the bachelorettes and told her that her dress matched the carpet...not smooth.

Oh my, the boot incident...now that is something these girls should remember...NOT...all they can think of is the $1M.

Paige is who I feel sorry for she actually has feelings for this guy...poor girl.

I will watch this show at least another episode, most likely till the finale.

Oh I forgot to mention that the gals will have to choose between love and the money, only they don't know this yet.  The only one I can see picking love at this point would be Paige, naive or not she is in love.

(edited to add the 1 & 2)

Rhune - the premiere was June 2 - and you missed it?  Well, here's the crux of what happened on Epi 2:

Rob had to have been a little overwhelmed being in a hot tub with ten gorgeous women because he clearly wasn't thinking. He floated from girl to girl with equal affection not seeming to care that he was systematically pissing everyone off with his "Mac Daddy" routine. By the end of the night, everyone thought he was a big jerk…except of course, Kelly. She wound up smooching with him, just as Paige turned a corner! It was a total "Days of our Lives" moment! Paige quickly whispered to Rob that all the girls were annoyed with him and that he had some explaining to do. Of course, she said it in a nice, clueless way.

The next morning, Rob showed up with his tail between his legs. He gathered the girls and apologized for his behavior. He explained that he was a shy kid and that he's scared and then a bunch of other stuff that didn't make much sense. His heartfelt confession (especially when he started to CRY) led to instant forgiveness. Later that day, Jordan dropped a bombshell: 5 more women would be eliminated that night! Lauren and Erin were straightforward in admitting that at this point they were in it for the money and hoped to stay. That night the staircase framed the ten lovely ladies as Rob emerged to say his peace. After telling them that they were all classy ladies, Rob wound up eliminating (in this order): Alima, Melanie, Christina, Melissa and in a surprise move, Stacey.

He was an absolute Class-A jerk and obviously can't hold his liquor.  It's been reported that when he was in the service, he was brought up on charges of "groping" a female officer.

The problem with shows like this is the Networks bombard us with look alike TV shows to imitate Survivor, Joe Millionaire, etc etc whats happens is we grow tired of it and they tend to go off and we lose the good ones as well. Example when Who wants to be a millionaire went big the networks put all kinds of look alike game shows on we were so overwhelmed by this we all lost interest and even Millionaire finally was dropped by ABC. I am not suggesting Survivor will fall soon but it is possible. I for one tend to NOT watch these look alike shows and i dont think I will watch this one. I will stick with what works for me Survivor, Amazing Race and if they do it Joe Millionaire 2

By JOEL ANDERSON, Associated Press Writer

DALLAS - Rob Campos, the bachelor star of NBC's dating game "For Love or Money," has a choice of women. But he no longer has his job.
The Dallas law firm where he did independent contract work has let Campos go. The founder of Mathur Law Offices, Sanjay Mathur, said Wednesday the firm was severing its ties with him.
Mathur was unhappy with reports that Campos had been expelled from a military program in 1999 for drunkenly groping a female officer. He also didn't like Campos' behavior in the show's second episode this week, an alcohol-soaked party with him and 10 women in a hot tub.
"What we do not want is negative publicity in relation to our firm," Mathur said. "We are obviously very concerned about our reputation and how prospective clients might feel about our regard for their rights."
An NBC spokeswoman didn't immediately return a call for comment, and Campos couldn't be located on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old Campos is the star of a romantic fantasy game, where he must choose a potential mate from among 15 women. The woman will be asked to choose between Campos and a $1 million prize.
The second of six episodes aired Monday night, with Campos alienating many of the women by making drunken romantic overtures to nearly all of them in the hot tub.
The Web site The Smoking Gun, which has specialized in uncovering embarrassing incidents in the pasts of reality TV stars, on Monday revealed the incident that took place while Campos wa stationed at the Naval Justice School in Newport, R.I., in 1999.
The 27-year-old woman kneed Campos in the groin, he collapsed, and she fled the room, the report said. He then allegedly vomited all over the woman's bathroom.
The incident effectively ended his military career.
"I was absolutely shocked," Mathur said. "I don't want to see my hard work go to waste based on a decision Mr. Campos made."
Lawyers need to be held in the highest regard, he said.
Campos had worked for Mathur Law Offices as an associate attorney since December 2001.
Mathur said he told Campos of the decision on Tuesday.

from me now:
Even my husband was saying this guy was a real sleaze LOL

Another person loses their job because of reality TV.   You have to know this could happen when you apply for these positions.

Law Firm Denies Campos Love and Money
Wed, Jun 11, 2003 12:55 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - On Monday (June 9), TheSmokingGun.com uncovered a shady secret in "For Love or Money" star Rob Campos' past and by Tuesday he was out of a job.

TSG revealed that while in a JAG training program, Campos got drunk, stormed into a fellow trainee's room and groped her breasts. The incident led to his removal from the JAG course, despite the fact that both his official NBC biography and the one on his law firm's web site reference his JAG Corps experience.

The investigation was handled by Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents and no public charges were filed, preventing NBC investigators from uncovering the information in a routine background check. Campos didn't volunteer the information, which might have altered his selection for the reality dating show in which the woman who wins his heart will have to choose between love and a million dollar prize.

While Campos apologized for failing to mention the incident, he explained that he believed it to be a private matter.

Now that the scandal has gone public, though, Campos' Dallas-based law firm, Mathur Law Offices, P.C., wants no part of the publicity. In a statement posted on the firm's web site on Tuesday, Sanjay S. Mathur explains why Campos was let go.

Mathur is quick to explain that Campos only worked for the firm as an independent contractor with "Associate Attorney" duties and that only a basic criminal record background check was performed before hiring him.

"Since Mr. Campos has never been a formal 'employee' of this firm, the firm simply will cease any additional work and we have asked him to vacate his office space," the statement says.

The firm's decision was based on both the new information and on Campos' behavior on "For Love or Money." In Tuesday night's episode, the series' second, Campos got drunk and had Jacuzzi-centric revelry with 10 women that one of the participants described as "disgusting."

"What is of greatest significance to us, is that our firm vigorously enforces the rights of individuals, many of them minorities, many of them foreign to this country and many of them women," Mathur's statement says. "We do not wish to allow any possibility of our practice of law being perceived as unsympathetic to the causes we strive so hard to protect."

Firm's Decision on Rob Campos

In reference to the recent controversy regarding Rob Campos, this firm makes the following public statement and decision:

Following the events of September 11, 2001, Rob Campos was laid off from his employment due to the economic turmoil resulting from the terrorist attacks.  After he returned to Texas from New York, Mr. Campos expressed interest in working with our firm and was ultimately offered a position as an independent contractor to perform "Associate Attorney" duties. This relationship began in December, 2001.  During his relationship with our firm Mr. Campos also had discretion to practice on his own cases.

When Mr. Campos expressed interest in performing work for this firm and maintaining an office with us he did not volunteer the negative information that related to his experience at the JAG Corps nor was this information known to us. The firm conducted a criminal background check, which showed no arrests, no probation, no deferred adjudication or convictions. The firm was not privy to the JAG Corps related complaint during the background investigation as the proceedings are protected by privacy rights.

The recent news stories related to Mr. Campos' misconduct during his tenure as a Marine are alarming. Furthermore, we were concerned about his conduct during the second episode of the TV show "For Love or Money" on NBC, which aired on June 9, 2003. Taking the two events together, we find that it is in the best interest of this firm to disassociate our relationship with Mr. Campos.  Since Mr. Campos has never been a formal "employee" of this firm, the firm simply will cease any additional work and we have asked him to vacate his office space.

We take this action carefully, without haste, and after due consideration. We have factored our relationship with Mr. Campos as well as the decisions he has made over the years and the last several weeks. Although we have known Rob Campos to be an intelligent and hospitable person and a person who has acted mannerly with our staff and our clients, he has allowed himself to become ill perceived. What is of greatest significance to us, is that our firm vigorously enforces the rights of individuals, many of them minorities, many of them foreign to this country and many of them women. We hold our relationship with our clients and potential clients dear to our hearts and of the utmost importance in prioritizing our responsibilities. We do not wish to allow any possibility of our practice of law being perceived as unsympathetic to the causes we strive so hard to protect.

Sincerely,

Mathur Law Offices, P.C.

Sanjay S. Mathur

Mr. Scuzzy bachelor learns that the bachelorettes have been told that whoever he picks will win $1M.

Now he is seen saying "I can't trust anything they say".

OMG the Sleaze has to confront that maybe a gal might out Sleaze him.

I feel sorry for the youngest of the bachelorettes who has actual feelings for him, I almost don't want him to pick her.  Unless of course she has been playing us and the others at the same time.

Then, I say "you go girl".  Otherwise it is just so sad and pathetic.

Episode 103
Monday, June 16th

Only five ladies remained: Erin, Kelly, Laura, Lauren and Paige. Whether they were in it for love or money, they each had to convince Rob that they were the one for him. Laura got the chance when she awoke first to discover an invitation at the top of the stairs. It offered the first early riser the opportunity to serve Rob breakfast in bed. After showering and borrowing Lauren's dress, Laura started getting nervous about what to make. Lauren, in true Paige style, offered to help! Ladies…what is with the teamwork?! Rob was just rubbing sleep bunnies from his eyes when Laura (accompanied by Lauren) knocked on his door to present breakfast. Lauren quickly went back to the main house while Laura snuggled up to Rob. She claimed money wasn't a factor at this point, and that the game was more about being herself and getting to know Rob. You may remember Laura as the girl from the first episode who claimed that at 34 she knew way more than the other girls. Speaking of the others, the sleeping beauties awoke to learn that their prince was with someone else.

After breakfast, Rob surprised the ladies by telling them that he'd be taking some of them on double dates over the next two days, meaning one girl would be left out. The first date was that same day with Paige and Kelly, who had both been excluded from the last group dates. Kelly said she didn't perceive young Paige as a threat. Paige was too busy skipping around the house in excitement to notice. After a brief limo ride, the girls arrived at a heliport where Rob emerged from an awaiting helicopter. They threesome was whisked away to Catalina Island. Rob wanted to see if Kelly was as bossy as the other girls made her out to be and wanted to know if Paige's age was going to be a factor between them. They went from the helicopter to a golf cart, then traversed the small island to arrive at a hilltop feast. During lunch, Rob pointed out an ornate, fancy box sitting on the ledge of the stone gazebo. Paige scampered over to open it and revealed a pile of Rob memorabilia. Pictures from Rob's childhood, along with poems Rob had written, tumbled out. Paige had to hang onto a poem as a souvenir and Kelly had to make fun of her for it (not to her face, of course). After the Catalina dream date ended, the threesome returned to the heliport. When Paige dashed off to the bathroom, Rob wasted no time in planting a few kisses on Kelly. In the limo, Rob teased Paige about her young age saying that she was too young for him. While Paige was a good sport about it at the time, she later admitted that it was like "a knife in her heart."

Back at the mansion, Rob told the other girls that he'd like Laura and Lauren to accompany him on the next double date. Erin reacted well, and later admitted that she does have a wall up and that Rob probably sensed it. She said she just wasn't a good liar and couldn't fake being into it just for a shot at the money. Before the second double date, Rob dashed inside under the pretense of using the restroom. Really, he just wanted to talk to Erin. He told her that the reason he didn't pick her for one of the double dates was so that he could have a one-on-one date with her that evening. It seemed his feelings for her were pretty strong, yet that hadn't stopped him from making out with Kelly and Laura! When Erin told Paige and Kelly that she was getting dinner alone with Rob, you could almost see the horns of jealousy popping up.

Meanwhile, Rob, Laura and Lauren arrived at L.A.'s famed dance spot The Derby. They had the place to themselves except for a rockin' swing band. Laura put Rob on the spot, asking him if he was feeling "it" with anyone in particular. Rob dodged the question and dragged her out to the dance floor instead. Next, Lauren took her spot on the dance floor. They obviously didn't have the same dance chemistry as Rob and Laura did. On the limo ride back to the house, Rob had his arms around both girls. Lauren admitted that while she didn't have the "love" connection with Rob, she might as well stay in the game and go for the million bucks. Isn't that sweet? Elsewhere, Erin was working on her own plan of attack. While preparing for her date, she talked about how her only chance at winning was to somehow get through the date without kissing Rob. The theory being that if she kissed him he'd sense that her attraction was more about the bling-bling in her bank account than the pitter-patter of her heart. At this point, poor Rob had no clue he was being played from both sides.

As the sun began to set, Rob and Erin clumsily climbed down a steep hillside (in formal wear) to the beach. A romantic dinner prepared by famed Thai chef Tommy Chang awaited them under a white canopy lit by tiki torches. As the evening progressed, we learned that Erin's father used to play pro football for the 49ers. We also learned that Erin had changed her tune about getting the money. She even said, "if it comes to down to kissing or going for the million dollars, I think I'll have to go for the kiss." Guess it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, right? Doesn't matter because he didn't kiss her goodnight anyway! Ha!

When Erin returned to the house, the girls were waiting up for her - like vultures circling their prey. Kelly and Paige were a little freaked when Erin told them Rob didn't even try to kiss her. They went to bed wondering what it meant and where they stood. The next morning, after a morning working out (presented via a painful montage), the girls philosophized on who would be eliminated that night. Three out of five picked Lauren. But before anyone got the boot, Rob got a little alone time with each of them. Lauren was first and kept it short and sweet. Kelly was next. She turned on the charm and he seemed lost in her eyes while she spoke. Laura spoke of the "underlying attraction" between them, but Rob pleaded the fifth - which was a bit odd. Rather than talk, Erin handed Rob a note. The thank you note said how much she appreciated their beachfront dinner. Nervous Paige was the last to visit Rob, but chose instead to skip the one-on-one and go straight to the back terrace. A bold move!

The eliminations began as before, with Rob at the foot of the stairs gazing up at the five ladies. Since only one girl would be eliminated, it seemed logical that he would save that girl for one of the final two. So when he called Kelly down first, it was no surprise that she was asked to stay. Erin was next, no worries there. Then came Lauren. Interestingly, Rob said he wanted to get to know Lauren better and wanted her to stay. Paige and Laura immediately shot each other shocked looks. One of them would be going home! Rob paused before calling the next girl and seemed to be contemplating his decision. Finally, he called Paige and asked her why she didn't come to see him before the elimination. She brushed it off as nerves, but not very convincingly. While Laura looked on nervously, Rob asked Paige to stay. Laura was out. Was it her aggressive nature and constant questioning that did her in? Did she learn nothing from Cristina C on "The Bachelor"?!

Well Rob - you idiot.  You knew that Paige was in love with you - you knew she would take you over the money in a heartbeat.  Yet you dissed her and dismissed her.

Rob - you're more than an idiot.  You knew Erin was not in love with you and would choose the mil over you any day.  Yet you chose her and she has the mil.  (Well, sort of.)

This man has made so many bad choices in his life.  Now he has no job and no love in his life either.  Idiot.

More on this - on the next carry-over installment series of FLOM - Part Two.  :laff:  :laff:  :laff: *snort*
