'Road Rules' Contestant Has Rap Sheet Wed, Jun 11, 2003 06:21 PM PDT LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - A current player on MTV's "Road Rules" had a domestic-violence restraining order against him when he was cast, and was arrested again shortly after returning from the show. Donell Langham, 21, was arrested in July 2002 on a charge of domestic assault and battery. Police reports from the arrest state that Langham, then 20 years old, "forcefully struck" his then 17-year-old girlfriend with a pillow and later threw her to the ground and dragged her for several feet. (You can see the arrest report and related documents at TheSmokingGun.com.) The girlfriend, Erin Soper, later took out a restraining order against Langham, which he now stands accused of violating. In that instance, he allegedly grabbed Soper by the neck for several seconds. Police reported seeing visible red marks on the girl's throat when they arrived. Langham tells The Smoking Gun that he informed "Road Rules" producers of his arrest record during the casting process; MTV isn't commenting. Langham says he's innocent in both cases and will go to court to prove it. He also says he and Soper are still dating, though the relationship is "dysfunctional." "I won't do jail time on these," he says. "Community service and counseling is offered, but I'm not guilty so I won't take a deal."
