This show has by far and away surprised me with how funny it is. For those of you who don't know the idea behind this show, and may be on the fence whether to check it out or not, it is a show that combines, big brother, survivor and American Idol... with comics.
The first episode debuted as 2, 1 hr (back to back) episodes where they took 50 west coast comics, and 50 east coast comics and selected the 10 funniest from each pool. These were selected with the help of celebrity judges like buddy Hackett & Phylis Dilar.
During the second episode the 20 contestants went to Las Vegas and the group was narrowed to 10.
The third episode saw the 10 comics sequestered in a house where they had to co-exist together. Some rifts started and alliances were made, mostly East vs West.
During each week (up to now) there have been some form of immunity challenge. For example doing your act on the street to see how much money you can raise.  THe person who wins immunity can't be voted for. Each week there is a vote... but here's the catch, it's not secret! you go in the booth and they tape what you say then play it back. The first week was great because none of hte comics knew it and blasted some of the other house guests.
After the vote, the person who recieved the most votes can challenge one of the people who voted for them to a stand up - stand off.
At a local club the comedians do their act and the audience votes for who was funnier. That person stays the other is gone.
winner of the whole show gets a comedy central special and a chance to do pilot show on NBC.
I highly recommend this show!

I've been watching this show since the begining, and I have to say that it is as good as many of the current reality shows on now. It makes my entire family laugh and it's not just some stupid talent show like AI. It actually has challanges, alliances, and stratagies. Kinda like BB except it's funny. :laff:

I, too, totally love this show - about time they have some kind of show for comics!  The stuff that happens in the house is too funny for words - often much funnier than the standup stuff - esp the whole "Don" thing!

It is super funny. I am really going to miss Dave. He and Rick together were hilarious. I didn't laugh at all at Tan last night. I thought the fact that they showed Dave and Rick in that tub was hilarious.

I don't know if any of you watch The View but the other day they said who the winner was.  They had one of the comics on the show, they slipped and made reference to him as the winner.

I like this show, I am surprised at how catty it can be sometimes though, guess they need to be, I just did not expect to see it.

I LOVED  Kiss Dave, with his dry sense of humor I totally pictured him as my future hubby  :laff:   Roll Eyes  Embarassed or else at least a part of my list of friends and family. (imagine my thanksgiving table??) Oh and him and rich in the tub was hysterical, I like how they did not even mention it until the end of the interview like it was totally natural.  lol  Grin

do you all have any favorites?  I liked Ralphie in the beginning but he is completely getting on my nerves these days.  Not sure who my favorite is at this point.  I was very surprised Dat beat out Dave.  Shocked

I really want Dat to win, when phone voting starts im going to get all my friends to vote for him.

the other night when he was up against Dave, I was really trying to laugh at Daves jokes but they weren't funny at all. Now when now even though Dat's mom made up all his jokes, they are still funny. I guess i just prefer Dat's style of comedy over regular stand up.

And i think you have to be Asian to really understand Dat's jokes or at least live around Asians and have Asian friends.

" Two Asian guys walk into a bar, Two week later.. they own it!!"

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while, and its very true too.

I guess I don't really get Dat's humor. I lived around plenty of Asian people, but not many Vietnamese. (hope I spelt that right). Anyway his jokes have all been the same since round 1. Dave mixed his up. I really like Rob Cantrell's from two episodes ago, but what can you do. I am sort of pulling for Ralphie now since Dave is gone.

my roomate is vietnamese and my ex fiance is japanese, so I don't necessarily agree that it is a matter of understanding it because of that.

I did find part of his act funny.  I like the beginning of his act, and then when he says just kidding I speak English.

Dave was my favorite though, not really sure why.  Ralphie is totally getting on my nerves, liked him at first though.

I find Rick Voz funny, but now his stand up. I find him more like a situational thing. He has snappy come backs. And his laugh is contageous. I think it is funny too how he is always ironing.
