I dont know if you guys watch that show, I have looked for a thread about it and there seems to have none.

Not sure about the whole point of the show, but so far I like it. I think the guy, Rocco, had very limited time to open a restaurant, starting with nothing.

Of course things dont go as smoothly as planned.  Seems to have a lot of problem with food being served cold to customers, leaking ceilings, mistakes with reservations, employes falling on a wet floor...ect. Everything that can go wrong happens.

I dont like the manager, Laurent. Hes as cold as ice.

Yesterday I think Rocco finally figured it out.  He stopped doing  PR all day long and finally  took charge of the kitchen. Should have do that from day one.  But hes not out of trouble...still has to deal with angry staff.

I hate to admit agreeing with you  :punch: but I really like this show, at first i thought, how boring, they are grasping at straws for reality shows.  But i really like it

It wasn't until Rocco enscounced himself in the kitchen - giving us a "concert" of slicin' and dicin', that I began to have at least a little respect for him.

I've been so thoroughly disgusted with his personna, dealing with the staff and patrons.  Then, he took some good advice about asking MamaMia to take a break.

I dunno - but asking a priest to come in and bless the warming lights, the meatballs, etc., just seemed icky.  Did anyone figure out what was dripping from the ceilings?

We've seen all the promos but decided that we have enough reality shows to watch at thispoint.  It did appear to be a bit boring!

Rocco seemed ok, just the storyline didn't give us a thrill to the point of watching it.

Good Luck to Rocco anyway!

Topher  was one of his best employes.  Too bad Rocco was too busy flirting with customers to noticed that the staff was starting to consider leaving.  Giving Lola the red scooter was a big mistake IMO.  Now, as Topher said, everybody will want to get one.  And Lola isnt such a good bartender.  Shes cold.

As for the priest...who knows... Rocco seems to have come to his senses after the priest visit. Seemed calmer.  If he needed that, then why not.

What was dripping from the ceiling is still a mystery to me.

I wonder how many more times do they have to call the guy with a broken arm only to send him back home before he gets mad and give it to Rocco and/or Laurent... Roll Eyes

Rocco bribing Lola with that red Vespa was one thing.  I missed the first 20 mins last night.  But I think Lola should have been more professional than she was when she practically announced what Rocco did.  Or could it be Rocco didn't tell her to stay mum because he wanted it known.  Either way - that was a baaaad move.

Topher - who knows if he'll come back.  I'd never blame him if he didn't.

I wouldn't have lasted a week working for that tyrant...I'm not sure what the labour laws are in the States, but he would have broken all kinds of laws just in the first day if it was in Canada.  From too-long shifts, to no breaks, to forcing them to do their hair and makeup a certain way...then calling someone in to force him home (that would have cost him at least 3 hours pay each time here!)...He'd be outta business sooner than later.

I was driving in the car last night coming back from the store and the dj was talking about how she loved this show and then mentioned that the restaurant just got nailed with 6 health code violations.

Looks like they are mostly pretty minor stuff though, like the employee restroom didn't have a "self-closing" door installed.
