'Stitch' In Time Rules Cable Ratings (Thursday, October 23 01:07 PM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - With the baseball playoffs shifted entirely to FOX and Sunday night NFL football preempted for the World Series, children's programming dominated the cable ratings chart for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 19. The Disney Channel took the top spot, averaging nearly 2.3 million viewers per night in primetime and Nickelodeon wasn't far behind, claiming second with nearly 2.2 million viewers. TNT took third with 1.94 million viewers per night and USA was fourth with just under 1.94 million. HBO rounded out the Top Five with 1.85 million viewers per night. While animation may have ruled the roost, it was the live-action animated antics of Spike TV's WWE Entertainment double bill that took the top spot on the basic cable list. "WWE Raw Zone" and "WWE Raw" averaged 4.52 million viewers. The only other listworthy program not found on Nickelodeon or Disney Channel was USA's "DC Sniper: 23 Days of Fear," which came in at No. 11 for the week with 3.65 million viewers. The Disney Channel was fueled by five different episodes of the "Lilo & Stitch" animated series. The movie spin-off ranked as high as No. 2 with 4.4 million viewers and even the least watched of the group only fell to No. 9 with 3.92 million. Nickelodeon's contributions to the list featured four episodes of "Fairly Odd Parents" and two installments of "SpongeBob SquarePants," but the network's top program was "Jimmy Neutron," which came in at No. 4 with 4.19 million viewers. The most watched of the "Fairly Odd" episodes drew 4.1 million viewers for No. 7, while the least popular came in at No. 14 with 3.55 million. "SpongeBob" took positions No. 8 (4.09 million viewers) and No. 12 (3.57 million). Over on premium cable, it was all HBO all the time, led by "Carnivale" and its audience of 3.41 million circus geeks. "The Sopranos" took the second sport, drawing 2.89 million mobsters. Third went to a screening of "Unfaithful" with 2.57 million viewers, followed by screenings of "Pulp Fiction" (2.05 million, 4th) and "Road to Perdition" (1.84 million, 5th).
