Well, fine!  I thought there would be a live wedding.  Roll Eyes Sad   Angry

Sunday, December 7, 2003 Posted: 1:34 PM EST (1834 GMT)

PALM DESERT, California (AP) -- "The Bachelorette" lovebirds Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter have tied the knot, but the event might not seem real until it airs on television.

They were married Saturday at the Lodge in Rancho Mirage, a resort near Palm Springs, according to the hotel's public relations firm, Solters & Digney. The hotel reopened Sunday after being closed to the public for four days to accommodate the large-scale production.

The wedding is scheduled to air Wednesday night on ABC.

"The Bachelorette" was a spin-off of ABC's popular reality TV show "The Bachelor," in which Rehn was the runner-up a year ago.

Sutter, a firefighter from Vail, Colorado, won the heart of Rehn, a physical therapist and former Miami Heat cheerleader, on the February finale.

ABC picked up the $1 million tab for the wedding. The couple also were paid a fee, said to be another $1 million. The bride's gown was designed by Badgley Mischka, and Kenneth Cole made the men's tuxedos. Some 30,000 roses were brought from Ecuador.

It's just like real life in my opinion, odds wise.  Last I heard, the Firestone bachelor was still happily engaged to his woman from the show as well.  There are just more misses than hits when it comes to dating and relationships, regardless of the format.

Nice to hear that bit of news about Firestone and his lady.  Thanks.

From some of the promos I've seen on TV, Trista chose two wedding gowns.  It was stated that one was for the actual wedding and the other was for the reception.   Hmmmmmm!  *scratches head*  Maybe that info was another way to throw us off.  I'm thinking one of the wedding dresses will be for the TV wedding.

I just think the way this has turned out is poopy and stinky.  Sad

I stand corrected....

Third 'Bachelor' Strikes Out
(Monday, December 08 05:57 PM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - In what will come as a surprise to absolutely no one, ABC's third "Bachelor," Andrew Firestone, has split with his chosen-on-national-TV honey, Jennifer Schefft.

"Our love for each other was genuine, but we confronted the same challenges as any other couple trying to make a relationship work day-to-day," Schefft says in a statement.

According to Firestone, the decision was the result of "long and thoughtful discussion" and that his and Schefft's parting of the ways "is totally amicable, and, though we care for each other deeply, we have come to realize that our future goals are different."

This is the third "Bachelor" couple to come undone. Bachelor No. 1 Alex Michel and Amanda Marsh speedily parted ways, as did Bachelor No. 2 Aaron Buerge and his supposed sweetie Helene Eksterowicz. Time will tell if the most recent picker, Bob Guiney, will go the distance with the lovely Estella Gardinier.

Meanwhile, ABC's first "Bachelorette," Trista Rehn, will have the recent marriage to her pick, Ryan Sutter, televised on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 9 p.m. ET.

So....will any of you watch the Trista/Ryan wedding tonight?  They've bumped up the cost of this event to $4mil.

The two-hour offering ended a few minutes ago.  While it was wonderfully "stage", two wedding dresses and all - I wish we had been offered the real deal.

But and however, I truly wish the best to Trista and Ryan that they're ever in love, have the children they want - and have a great marriage and wonderful life together as a family.

The only "bad" thing were the infernal helicopters above.  The noise was rude and unwanted.   Angry

The Resort needs a no-fly zone there, for the helicopters were annoying!

I thought the roses and background for the ceremony was awesome, very southern, with palm trees in back!   The wedding was beautiful, flower girls were precious and the little boy in the firetruck topped it all!

We wish them many many years fo happiness.    Tongue
