Filming of the show will begin in early 2004; you'll know you've been chosen to "do your dream" when Phil literally shows up on your doorstep or walks into your cubicle at work. Then you'll be in for an adventure of a lifetime — an adventure of your making.

No woulda/coulda/shouldas — live life to the fullest.

http://media.dsc.discovery.com/fansites/now/now.html

What is NOW?:  What would you do if you had 72 hours, $3,000 and one dream?

Discovery Channel is searching nationwide to find America's most imaginative dreamers for a new series called No Opportunity Wasted. That is, we're looking for you.

Led by host Phil Keoghan, also seen in the Emmy Award-winning The Amazing Race, NOW is about living each day as if it were your last.

Go here for answer: http://media.dsc.discovery.com/fansites/now/about/about.html

NOW host and creator Phil Keoghan

About Phil Keoghan:  http://media.dsc.discovery.com/fansites/now/keoghan/keoghan.html

Phil Keoghan is a familiar face on television.

Not only does he host the Emmy Award-winning series The Amazing Race, but he's worked in over 50 countries around the world as host, producer, writer and cameraman on more than 1,000 TV episodes.

Greenlight your dreams:
Go here: http://media.dsc.discovery.com/fansites/now/dreams/dreams.html

Sample Adventures:
Your doctor says you need to relax or else. Break the chain — if only for 72 hours. Drop everything and hit the open road.

Grab your motorcycle and camping gear. Head for the Rockies and recruit fellow easy riders on the way, leading your noisy convoy through the mountains.

Seventy-two hours. Three-thousand dollars. And a chance to realize your dream — on national TV.

Unsure what we're looking for? We put together some samples by canvassing our own staff. Click on the picture to launch the slide show of their dream adventures.

Then be sure to apply with your own.

APPLY:  http://media.dsc.discovery.com/fansites/now/apply/apply.html

Note: The application deadline has been extended to Jan. 31, 2004
Ready to "do your dream" on national TV? You've come to the right place. But first, before you download our application, here are just a few guidelines (see more in the application itself).

You must be:

* a U.S. citizen or legal resident alien;
* over 18 years old (if you're a minor, we'll need written permission from a parent or legal guardian);
* a U.S. passport holder or an applicant for one that will be valid by December 2003 and through December 2004 (for international dreams only) or a foreign passport holder with a valid green card;
* ready to travel at a moment's notice as determined by the producers at their sole discretion with the limited resources and small budget they provide;
* available for up to seven consecutive days; and
* physically and mentally capable of performing your selected dream as certified by a licensed physician.

Your dream should be:

* original, multi-layered and unique. Think of something that has never been done before and things that money can't buy.
* creative, exciting, challenging and fun!
* achievable in 72 hours or less and with $3,000 or less.
* for up to four people. Every participant will need to fill out a separate application; please send them in together. One three-minute video per dream is fine. It's OK for your dream to involve more than four people as participants, as long as they are not the creators of the dream.

Need ideas? Click here for some examples.

Your next steps are:

* to download our application by clicking on the link below, going to "file: save as" and saving it to your C drive. Then just open it from your C drive, carefully fill it out and print it.

* to sign your application with the Terms and Conditions, Waiver and Release of Liability (one per applicant, please).

* to send us a three-minute videotape (one per dream) in which you describe your dream and the elements that make it up. Please tell us also why you should be picked for NOW. We will only consider tapes up to three minutes in length (VHS only — no MiniDV, Hi8, etc.). Any and all materials submitted to DCI and/or the producers as part of this application shall become the property of the producers and will not be returned. The tape may be used as part of the program or as part of the promotion of the program.

* to write down your dream experience in one 8" x 11" page. We will only consider up to 750 words. Describe, step by step, exactly how you imagine this experience unfolding in chronological order. What do you want to achieve? Be very specific. Where exactly does it take place? How are you going to rely on your imagination? Include your (brief) budget on the dream description page. Staple to the application.

* to postmark your application materials by Jan. 31, 2004. The producers and DCI reserve the right to extend this deadline at their sole discretion and to change the application in parts or in its entirety.

Limit one application per applicant.

No Opportunity Wasted the series is co-produced by No Opportunity Wasted TV Inc. and Discovery Communications, Inc. The producers will select the participants and/or the dreams to be featured as part of this TV programming at their sole discretion.

How awesome would it be - just the idea makes me giddy - to be able to turn off your mind to the world outside your mind and concentrate ONLY on what you would like to do?  Especially if it's something you've never before attempted - for whatever reason?

What would I want to do?  Fly to Paris for lunch.  On to the Fountains of Trivi.  Then, my ultimate dream - fly to the land downunder, drive from Alice Springs and then be helicoptered to the top of Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock), then hike down and walk all the way around this magnificent monolith.

Go here for a slide show of this beauty:

http://www.msoft.it/pages/casulini/aus_mc16.htm

See Sydney and the famous Opera house - meet up with my online friends and parteeeeeeee!

Take a quick jaunt to New Zealand - to at least say "I've been there."  Go here for a virtual NZ tour.  http://www.vnz.co.nz/

Then plan for a return, and more leisurely, trip back to AU and NZ.

Can one do this in 72 hours?

I wish......'cept I don't think I'd pass all their stringent requirements.  They'd probably count me out on age alone.  *sniff and whine*

Believe me, if I didn't have certain responsibilities right now and was a tad younger - you'd see me out there! Wink
