Just me, your local TV junkie.  Grin

Good show. I know some people that won't let their kids watch it because it deals with witchcraft and they are Catholic. Kind of a dumb reason if you ask me. The show revolves around the forces of good trying to defeat the forces of evil. Oh well, to each their own.

I like the whole Chris plot line right now and it should be a good season. Can't wait to see what they do next year as they will wrap up the whole "Wyatt evil in the future" this season.

I am totally anti charmed, not for that reason though Boradamer,

I am just insanely jealous that they let that show (which is ok, but nothing special) stay on the air for 7 or 8 years and they canceled Angel (best scripted show on TV i think) after 5....I am just bitter so i refuse to watch....*L*

Granted it is not that awesome of a show. Mostly eye candy for the guys but I like the premise and the writers do a fairly decent job.

The show was much more interesting when Cole was around.

I am Catholic and many friends of mine who watch this are Catholics as well, yeah it's a war between good and evil here...

I like how Paige's character has turned more interesting.. great power she has!...Piper was always my favorite Charmed one

My Catholic friends say it has witches in it and they worship pagan gods. I don't know if it is just mid-US diocese that have condemned it or what but this is from people in Chicago, St. Louis and central Illinois that I have heard it from.

I don't get it. The girls don't 'worship' pagan gods. They just get their power from being born to a magical line. Like you said, the bottom line is the fight evil. You would think that would be a good enough message. *shrug*

Not that I share the view of your friends Boradamer, but I can understand it to a certain extent

It't not so much that the sisters are evil, but it you are a Catholic Parent, you probably don't want your kids seeing on Television how great and how much fun it is to be a witch, because there are "real" witches/Wiccans around that aren't necessarily good and fighting against evil, so i don't think it's the evil thing so much as the not wanting to glorify witchcraft to impressionable children.

thats just what i think...

I understand completely and I don't mean to make it sound as if I am slamming Catholics, as I am not. Just stating what I find odd and personally cannot understand.

You are absolutely correct. I think the 'glamorizing' of it can be misconstrued in a young persons mind.

Then again, if we were to pick apart every TV show...   Wink

no worry boradamer... i don't think you're slamming Catholics... cpz.. i didn't feel it... you're just stating your point....

well.. maybe... what I wouldn't kids to see in this series is the smooching, open sex life, and the daring clothings of the characters.... well i'm still quite a conservative Catholic that's why.. specially for the kids...  Grin

Yeah. they do tend to push the sexuality and skimpy clothes.

Then again, I don't think they would get many viewers with a show about androygenous, homely witches that can't get a date to save their lives and live with 40 cats.

Without brokeness (sin), light(Jesus) can not shine through.  Job.
But, anyway, I may not be just a Catholic thing, but any one that has read the Old Testament, somewhere in 1or 2 Samual it says not to call on to the Dead using spells or witchcraft.
We do not watch it in our household do to I have 2 young girls and do not find it fitting for our viewing.  If it is not suitable for them it is not suitable for us (my wife and I).

Good season finale. I thought it was a decent wrap up to the whole "Chris" saga. Not sure if everyone has seen the finale yet so I won't go into details just yet.
