Multimillionaire & School Bus Drive Swap lives
In the first episode we meet Jodi Spolansky & family a multimillionaire who's married and has 3 young children. Jodi swaps lifes with Lynn Bradly who's a school bus driver and owns her own small business who's also married with 2 teenagers. These two women are like night and day, this should be good!
In the first week the wives live by the families rules, the second week the wives get to change everything how they want to do. Jodi's day is all about me time, she has 4 Nannies to take care of her kids from morning to night. She spends her day shopping, getting her nails done or hair. She says her average week of shopping is spending about $4000.00 dollars. She doesn't cook, and hasn't since 1996, she's never cleaned and isn't even sure she could use a mop. Jodi's husband says she will gain more experience and realize there's more to life doing this reality show. Lynn lives in a house in NJ with her husband that they built. She has two girls. She's a school bus driver, in between those times she's not driving the bus she spends 6 hours a day chopping wood for their small business. She also has to do all the family needs, cooking , cleaning, shopping, spending time with them. Lynn says hopefully doing this show, her husband will appreciate her more and realize everything she does.
1st week:
Jodi's already complaining about caring in her luggage by herself. She said the place is neat and clean. Well, except the coffee pot still having coffee in it. She found a vacuum cleaner and says she doesn't know how to use it. After just first entering the house, she's already crying. Lynn is in awe of Jodi's life, she checks out her shoe closet and when she reads about Jodi's life she cries when she reads that Jodi only spends about an hour a day with her kids because she has to have me time. When Jodi meet's Lynn's husband Brad and two teenage girls, things seem to go OK, she tells them about her life back in NY that she doesn't do anything she has everyone do it for her. Brad is not impressed. Lynn meets Jodi's husband Steven and kids and her 4 nannies, she begins asking one of the nannies if the kids are neglected. The nanny seems to be stuck answering that one. Jodi gets up the next morning and tries to cut wood, after 15mins she stops, and goes in to try to cook breakfast for the girls, remember it's the first time she's cooked in 8 years. You can tell she's never done a thing before, she burns toast and throws bacon. Lynn, on her first day is let to sleep in and gets to go shopping and spend $2000.00. Lynn then goes to get her hair and nails done, then a work out is in order. Brad discovers that Jodi only did about 15mins of wood chopping. Brad's girls can tell they don't like each other. Lynn, gets to see the kids for the first time today, but then Steven comes home and takes her out to dinner. They go to dinner with a few of Steven's friends and coworkers. She's unimpressed with them. On the 2nd day Jodi, doesn't do any log splitting, and spends the day gossiping to one of Lynn's friends. Brad is yelling about why she hasn't done anything and hasn't done any of his wife's job. He's talking about how she has everyone else do her work. This makes Jodi go outside and have a smoke and cry and talk to Lynn's friend. Jodi thinks he's selfish and lazy and doesn't appreciate his wife.
The 2nd week
The wives now get to make their changes for the week. Jodi, says Brad will have to assume the a lot more responsibility, and Brad's expecting it. Lynn, begins her day by redecorating, bringing in cozy items. A new doormat, and table cloth. The new rules begin and the family must obey. Lynn says Steven and his wife spend to much time away from his kids, and says he should dismiss the nannies and cook and maid after their meeting. And wants him home by 6:30pm in the evening. The kids look at their dad when they hear the Nannies have to go, their all smiles. Steven is shocked about getting rid of the nannies and said Lynn comes from Hill Billy Land. Jodi's, now giving Brad his order that he will help out around the house and makes it a point to say the bathroom and chop wood while she goes to do what she normally does, jogging, to the gym and Shopping! Steven comes home from work early to have dinner with his family. Lynn is in the kitchen cooking. He's not happy. Steven has no ideal how to interact with his kids, you can tell he's not use to it and Lynn even mentions it. After Steven spends an hour with his kids, he's back to work. Brad is having to follow Jodi's rules, he's out chopping wood, and starts the cleaning. Jodi spends me time with Brad's daughters and takes them to get their hair and nails done. I think Brad is really missing his wife and he's telling Jodi how bad he feels about the way he's been. Steven broke the rules and didn't come home for dinner one night and leaves Lynn with the kids, he's working out says it's better there than going home. Lynn enjoys time with the kids, and reads them books. one of the boys said he's gonna miss her. Jodi realizes how much Brad misses Lynn, and starts helping out with the wood, Brad says he's expected to much and now sees Jodi as a real person and really misses his wife. Jodi's really settled in this week and is enjoying cooking and even invites the girls friends over to help make cookies. Lynn is upset, and Steven is on the warpath, because there's a room messed up, and they're having soup and sandwiches for dinner. Lynn definitely doesn't like Steven and says he treats her like she works for him. Lynn decides she can't stay and tells Steven she's leaving. And she does. Steven's left with his 3 kids. As she leave's he says to the kids, now lets have real dinner. He's already ordered takeout. Brad fulfills his promise and takes Jodi out to dinner. He says he wished the could do the 1st week over, and regrets how he acted. Jodi agrees she was wrong too and they both have become friends. At the end of the two weeks, both husband and wife's sit down and talk to each other: The couples sit down to discuss what they have learned. Lynn was discussed with the way she was treated by Steven, and Steven says she should have told him how she really felt and they could have worked it out, he was hoping to learn something from her to make his family bond stronger. Jodi realized that she needs to spend more time with her kids and that she was prejudice, and was glad she made a friend. Brad said he realize how truly he missed his wife and said he's wasted 10 days of not having her with him, and he appreciates her now more than ever. Since the show, Steven says him and Jodi are spending more times with the kids, and Jodi is glad, she mentions her daughter wakes up calling Mommy now and not the Nannies name now and how much she loves that. At the Bradley house, things have changed a lot, Brad is helping out and working with his wife now. Lynn says the work gets done faster now. She also laughs and says she's got some Me time now. Brad say she deserves it.
Two weeks into an hour long show, that's alot of stuff Next week we'll meet two more new families.
