Anyone watch this last night?  I missed it but plan to see it next week.

http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/story.php?s=3014

Fox has revealed the identities and details of the sixteen young entrepreneurs who will compete on Richard Branson's upcoming The Rebel Billionaire: Branson's Quest For The Best reality series.

Premiering Tuesday, November 9 at 8PM ET/PT with a special two-hour debut, The Rebel Billionaire will feature Branson jetting the would-be moguls around the world in order to relive some of the personal experiences and challenges that helped shape the flamboyant self-made billionaire. Contestants will be eliminated at each stop of the worldwide adventure, with the final remaining contestant winning what Fox is terming the "biggest prize in reality TV history" -- $1,000,000 and Branson's job as president of his Virgin Worldwide conglomerate.

sonic says this is a copycat of the Amazing Race. They say from Sucks that it's a mixture of The Apprentice and The Amazing Race, and some AR fans like it.

I loved it... was more a cross between Apprentice, The Benefactor and AR.  The stunts are things no one else would do!

Episode one had Branson dressed as an old man posing as the cab driver who brought them to the estate from the airport.    Using Cuban's "first impression" idea, he cut two players after he'd delivered them to the house and revealed that he was indeed their cab driver.  How they "treated the help" apparently was important to him.  There were three he wanted to cut, but had said only two, so the third was left and set up as "team captain" of the challenged team.

First challenge, cross over a 3 inch wide beam suspended between to hot air balloons in flight.  Branson's thing "I won't ask you to do anything I wouldn't do" and it shows footage of him walking the beam shot previously.  All but two make it across.  He then tells the last two that their challenge to see who gets to stay in the game... have an English tea with him and discuss the game... on top of the balloon.  Rope ladders fall, and he begins climbing 150 feet up, dangling off the side of a balloon at 10,000 feet.  Takes him about 20mins to make it up and he's "shattered."  The first contestant starts up, takes the guy about 30 mins (if I recall correctly).  The second contestant is a woman who is afraid of heights, but is determined they won't beat her... takes her the better part of an hour to get up there... when she makes it she's so excited she jumps up and down, foot goes thru the balloon top, she falls and almost goes thru the balloon.... *gasp* ... so the three of them sit there, 10,000 feet in the air, at a little table with their cups of tea... very cool!  One got cut.  And they were off to Hong Kong.

Second task was "apprentice" like in that they had to come up with a new concept for Virgin Atlantic's Hong Kong flight.  The losing team, had to do wing walking stunt on a biplane - one inverted and pass a baton between the two of them.  One of those who was to be eliminated was too heavy for the stunt and had to choose a surrogate to go in his place.  Both were successful, and Branson was going to choose between the two who went, when another contestant decided there was no way she could do these stunts and quit so neither of them had to go.

This week, they're off to Africa to take a barrel over Victoria Falls, should be fun.. Smiley

The winner gets a million dollars and gets to be president of Virgin Worldwide... not a bad prize package.. Smiley

Ok, do not spoil this for me please! A local station indeed picked it up (the same one that shows Survivor and TAR here), but it won't be live and I'll just hope I can catch it every week. I forgot the schedule but I'll be watching out for it.  Smiley

I loved this show, JP.  I think you'll really enjoy it... first you get the Apprentice part (they have teams and projects to do) and then you get the TAR part of it, when they have to do the challenge if they loose... and Richard Branson is great fun!

It was on here in the fall.  Don't know if there's plans to do another or not...  You also get the "the tribe has spoken/you're fired" thing at the end when Branson decides who goes home... and he alone makes the decision.  I was surprised a few times who stayed and who went, but it was always enjoyable.
