Former 'Brady' Finds Love on 'Surreal Life'

NEW YORK - Before participating in VH1's wacky has-been cavalcade "The Surreal Life," Christopher Knight was a single child actor turned desk jockey turned out-of-work actor best known as the squeaky Peter Brady.
 
Now Knight is dating fellow cast member Adrianne Curry, actually working as an actor and ... well, still best known as the middle Brady boy. Despite the inability to shrug off his milquetoast image, the 47-year-old is happy with the exposure.
 
"I couldn't have expected this," Knight told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Tuesday, moments after arriving home from the gym.  
 
"This would have been an outlandish expectation. I was just hoping to recalibrate an audience to who I am. I didn't think I would get work. I didn't think it would put me back in play."
 
In fact, he didn't think a "Surreal Life" experience was even respectable. In an interview with the AP last September before he signed up for "Surreal Life," Knight said he'd been approached by the show's producers but would never participate. After watching all 10 episodes of the second season and hearing advice from friends in the biz, Knight flip-flopped.
 
For two weeks, he was followed by cameras while shacking up with the likes of former WWE wrestler Joanie Lauer a.k.a. Chyna, rapper Da Brat and Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer.
 
"The most surprising part having done this is the friendships," Knight said. "I mean, `The Surreal Life' was just like any production. For instance, the Bradys are like a family. But that was five years. This was 12 days."
 
Knight was first skeptical of Curry's advances during the show. After prodding from producers and "removing my arrogance," Knight romantically opened up to the first "America's Next Top Model" winner, who at 22 is 25 years his junior. After the show's taping, the pair have become completely committed. She's staying with him until she can find her own place in Los Angeles, and he's met her mother.
 
"It was just like meeting any other parent," said Knight of the model's mom — who's a year younger that him.
 
Now that Knight and Curry are coupled, their love story might continue in the vein of "Strange Love," the "Surreal" spinoff starring lovebirds and former "Surreal" cast members Brigitte Nielsen and Flavor Flav.
 
"It's something that was pitched to do by Adrianne, actually," Knight revealed. "Frankly, I would hope not to have to expose myself to that level, but Adrianne is a much different person than I am."

I've actually watched a couple episodes of this show for the first time.  I have to say the Brady guy is the only one I'd wanna be stuck in a house with for that long.  Some of those people need a year's supply of THERAPY!

When I've seen him on things since the Brady's, he's the one who always seemed the most "normal"... and I think Adrianne is gorgeous, she has that rough, street look to her, very different!  We picked her to win Top Model from day one...

I was just watching "Peter" on a Brady Bunch rerun the other day.  It was the episode where he gets picked for the role of Benedict Arnold in the school play.

He really comes across as a nice guy, as an adult.  He's in good physical shape and treats people respectfully, and remains a calm center when everyone else seems to be acting chaotic around him.  He's shown he has a good sense of humor to boot.  I'm impressed! He doesn't hold a candle to my own husband Wink  but he's someone I'd be happy to introduce to a single friend.

I gew up on The Brady bunch from my parents and I was shocked whn I heard him say like "ass" and bit*h" It was weird.. I mean it's the guy who solves probalems and saying idiot is sooo bad~ Do ya'll get what I'm getting at?

I agree Rhune, i saw a couple episodes two and he appears to be the only one with a grip on Reality.  That verne troyer guy needs to some serious help.  *shakes head*  He has some kinda complex
