Believe it or not, but reality shows are taking over TV in the United States, with Survivor and American Idol being the most popular. People in this country sure know what to watch, but they unfortunatly don't choose the right people to STAY ON (cough....Scott Savol....cough)!!!!!!

I disagree, i think Reality is on the way out.  New reality shows aren't as plentiful as they used to be.  I think AI is in trouble with this Paula Abdul thing, depending on who replaces her they might not make it too much longer.
 
Survivor and BB will last a while longer, same with AR, but as for the others, i doubt it.  I don't think any new Reality series was picked up for a second season this year, but all sorts of new comedies and dramas were. You need only look to Lost and Desperate Housewives to see what America is watching.

REALITY TV IS THE ONLY TV I WATCH lol it's my fav like TAR lol The Amazing Race..gotta be the best show on tv..
 
I hope reality tv sticks around forever! it rocks in my opinion thooose other shows i.e oc, cold case, c.s.i are boring for me..i dont watch any of thoose shows

Jenna, I HATE SCOTT SAVOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What I meant was that the viewers kept choosing Scott over people who were so much better than him. Really, what IS to like about Scott?

I have to agree with Angel on this one.  Reality shows are on there way out.   The first reality shows that came on were good fun, now some of them are just way out there.  Not worth watching.

Reality is my favorite type of show but I don't watch all of them... only Survivor, BB, and TAR.

Sorry Neelloc!  Didn't mean for my "BB" reference to make you nuts.
 
But thanks for the agreement.  People don't want to see idiots doing stupid stuff on TV for money anymore.  The Bachelor's ratings are in the gutter these days.  Dating shows are boring to people now, they never work out.  As i said, we will have a few more survivor TAR and BB seasons and then it will all be over.  Just as variety shows went out the window, so will realities.
 
As for ANTM, the only reason that's still on the air is because it's on UPN, any other station would probably have canceled it, but UPN is so far behind, they need all the viewers they can get.

I completly disagree with you on ANTM.  It is one of the biggest reality shows, because even though it may not be #1 for it's time slot, it is very much watched.

yeah, I have to hand you the MTV Real Wolrd/Road Rules shows. I haven't even seen them, but lots of people must because they are still going strong.

The only reality shows on there are Survivor, AI, and ABC's extreme home makeover.  Out of 20 shows, only 3 realities made it, not ANTM, not even the Apprentice made it.  Most of these shows are dramas.
