'The Bachelor' chooses his love match live
NEW YORK (AP) Unlike previous seasons of ABC's The Bachelor, Charlie O'Connell will bestow his final rose live on Monday's season finale.

O'Connell said he's "definitely leaning one way" as the finale approaches, but wouldn't elaborate.

"I'll be happy for Monday when I can date just one girl or start a relationship or whatever it's going to be," said O'Connell, who didn't indicate whether he would propose to one of the finalists.

In the past six finales of the reality dating show including three Bachelorette editions the romance-seeker has picked or proposed to his or her choice in a taped ceremony, and the selection has been kept hush-hush for several months.

Not this time.

"I think there's a definite advantage if you're going to try and start a relationship afterward," said O'Connell, brother of Crossing Jordan star Jerry O'Connell, of the twist. He made his comments during a conference call with journalists Tuesday.

O'Connell said he went on "three-ish" dates with each finalist and the cameras "were with us and not with us." He also frequently phoned both women.

"I think we were able to let go when the cameras were around, so we were able to let go even more when the cameras weren't around," he said.

O'Connell said he's "definitely leaning one way," but wouldn't elaborate.

"I feel ready for this whole thing to be over," he said. "I'm looking forward to having a girlfriend."

I can't believe we have to endure 3 hours of this crapfest tonight. I think I will just TIVO it and watch it tomorrow night when I can FF through the worst parts. He's gonna pick Sarah. yawn

Not sure about this "live decision"... I'd probably just tell the other one they could have him and hit the road.. rather than live thru the embarassment of being told on live tv that I wasn't the one... Sad

As for who... I can't decide.. Krisily has not been a favorite, but Sarah B is being a bit of a *B* tonite... but don't dislike either of them enough to see them crushed on live tv.. Sad

Ok I admit it. I watched. Just like a bad accident I couldn't look away. I thought they edited Sarah B too much and by them doing that, I knew who he would pick.
I thought it was the Krisily show for a while, also thought her dress was not flattering.
But in the end he sounded like any other nervous guy.
I never watch every show, just some of the first episode and the last show.

I thought it was OK... much classier of Charlie to let Krisily go in the back. At least she wasn't immediately humiliated in front of a bunch of people. Just hope Sarah and Charlie are happy together.

I thought the way he let Krisily down, not in front of the live audience was considerate of him, but wonder if she/or her family knew ahead of time.
I looked at the tvright after the commercial and there he was giving Krisily the 'lets be friends' speech.
It was cute at the end when the doors opened and Sarah was standing there the look on his face, it said it all, lol

I haven't watched it all season but did tivo it last night. I thought his choice was Sarah for she was interviewed on a local tv station. So that gave me a clue!
Now we can erase the tivo and not watch any of it, why bother Roll Eyes
