TAR6-1 Recap – “It’s Warm in Iceland”

Finally, it’s here!  Nice music, nice scenery…except that dumb AOL dude doing a dance on the left bottom corner of my screen…

So we learn that the race starts in Chicago, and that boats are driving teams to Chicago.  You all know the teams so I won’t say more.  The starting location was Buckingham Fountain.  Jonathan is a bit excited…he can’t stop jumping.

The world is waiting for you…

Good Luck…

Travel Safe…

GO!

They’re off into the streets to find a train to the airport.  At the airport there are three flights.  Baltimore flight arrives first, Minneapolis second, and Boston third.  Boston is delayed, but still arrives first.  I would go over the people on each flight, but you all probably already know and want to finish reading this.  So they have to go to a Selandrofuss (sp) Waterfalls in Iceland.  Maria & Meredith severely screw up by following Hayden & Aaron after they already were at the waterfall sending them hours behind.  However, the other teams found the waterfalls with little error.  Next they had to go to the biggest glacier in Europe and sign up for a shuttle. All I know with that was Maria & Meredith were extreme last, way behind. The shuttle took them to the top of the glacier, where they were to change into warm clothes and get onto a snowmobile and go more than two miles to camp.  At camp there were tents with departure times (10, 10:30, 11, 11:30).  This is how Maria & Meredith caught up with other teams, saving them from obvious elimination.  When they got down, they were to get themselves to Glacier Ice Beach.  There they got the detour, Ice Climb or Ice Search.  Most did Ice Climb, except for John & Victoria, Avi & Joe, and Gus & Hera.  By the way, I must note Jonathan has been an arrogant abuser.  Saying “I know what needs to be done” implying Victoria knows nothing and constantly abusing her.  So Avi & Joe take an INCREDBLY long time at the Ice Search leading teams to pass them.  On the way back after the ice climb, Adam & Rebecca fill their cars with gas instead of diesel (obviously didn’t watch TAR3…) and lost some time.  The teams then have to go to the pitstop, the Blue Lagoon (Blaá Lonió in Icelandic).  The order is…

1st – Hayden & Aaron                              6th – Lori & Bolo
2nd – Kris & Jon (YEAH!)                        7th – Adam & Rebecca
3rd – Lena & Kristy                              8th – Meredith & Maria
4th – Freddy & Kendra                        9th – Don & Mary Jean
5th – Jonathan & Victoria (BOO!!!!)                  10th – Gus & Hera

ELIMINATED – Avi & Joe
This leg was filmed from August 13th-15th, the weekend Hurricane Charley hit the east coast (just if you wanted to know what the “bad weather” was).  On the 14th I went on vacation to Bermuda (GRRR…If only my parents decided on Iceland then I might have saw them…Sad)

After re-watching tonite's rerun I noticed I made many mistakes...I fixed them though Wink

I think it's spelled Sejlandford.

In my geography exam this year, one question asked us to locate Florida which was hit by Hurricane Charlie.

If Sonic had gone to Iceland, he would have have the spoiler in mid-August.

How old are u anyway?

I'm 15.  And we did have the Iceland spolier mid-August...we even had the spoiler that afternoon!  Some spotters caught them running around Chicago on Adams St. that day.

On all the other TAR boards I go to, the mods are 30+ years old.  So I'm less than half their age...

But let's stay on topic.

Ah, so it was Charley that might have caused delays on the teams! I didn't know that. Thanks!

Also, I am still unsure who M&M followed. I just reread the CBS TAR6 website, and I'm still a bit unsure, although I think it was Avi and Joe they followed away from the first clue.

I thought it was Hayden and Aaron... I'm pretty sure Aaron waved at them to follow, and they did. Hayden kind of chastised Aaron for it, but like he said, it's a game, you play to win.

For the first time, the arrival time of the flights are not important.

That "warm in Iceland" comment made me :laff: I'm thinking, hmmm, you think they call it Iceland 'cause there might just be some ice thereHuh  And Lori's "it's so cold, my implants are frozen!"-that was a hoot!

I was sorry to see the guys go, they were very funny.  Thought they might be this season's Ken and Gerard.
