This is an old recap that I made last season. LOL, I want to "share" it to the newbies.

This is OLD. Check the date I started this thread.

Here's a recap of Episode 2... Grin

Starting point: Iceland

Lena and Kristy started the Leg in good spirits. Who wouldn't be? They were third to in the Pit Stop yesterday. That's a good lead. The grannies can't beat them right? And those fat "ex-CIA" guy, who is he kidding? Meredith and Maria should do good this week, or we would be the only female team left. thought Kristy.

They ripped open their clue, which instructs them to go to Oslo, Norway. Once there, go to blah blah blah.... Lena and Kristy left the Pit Stop to their car and drive to the airport.

They arrived at the airport without a hitch, hoping for a lead by getting good tickets, but found out the other teams will be boarding the same flight to Oslo (thru Coppenhagen) as them. So, with the other 9 teams, Lena and Kristy flew off to Norway for their next great adventure.

When they landed, a gentleman volunteered himself to help Lena and Kristy around Oslo. His name, which the narrator shamelessly forgotten, sounded like a European car. For our purpose, let's call him Audi. With Audi's help, it didn't take long for them to find their next destination, Holmenkollen Ski Jump. The two ladies jumped off their cars to run the next clue box.

ROADBLOCK

Who is ready to perform an Olympian feat

In this Roadblock, one Team member must climb to the top of Norway's Holmenkollen Ski Jump, the highest ski jump in Scandinavia, then ride a zipline 1,000 feet to the bottom to receive their next clue.

Kristy decided that she can do it, so off she ran to <the place where they are supposed to zip>. She noticed Jon was doing the Roadblock for their team. This should be easy for Kris. Was she afraid of heights? she wondered.

At the top, Kristy watches as Jon zips down. That wasn't so bad. You can do it, you can do it, you can--

Helper: It's your turn.

--do it, can do it, can, can...

"GO KRISTY!!!" Lena shouted out for support.

Kristy took a deep breath and ..... wooohooooo...... after a few exhilirating seconds, it was over.

"That was fun!" Kristy exclaimed.

"I'm so proud of you, " Lena said.

They opened the next clue that instructs them to go to the Viking Village. They drove out of the Ski Jump, and with Audi's help, they were in the Viking Village in no time. Lena and Kristy thanked Audi for the help, leaving him there (how would he get home?!) to get the next clue.

Lena & Kristy opened their clue informing them of their overnight stay in the traditional village. In the morning, the 10 Teams would split into two larger Teams of five of their own choice. The two large Teams would then race Viking ships across a fjord to a marked dock, where the next clue awaited. Before settling down for a night's rest, they were treated to another display of Jonathan & Victoria's incessant bickering. Kristy commented, "We actually like Victoria, but Jon is pretty mean to her, so we don't really like him. He's just really aggressive and harsh." Jonathan should be killed. Lena whispered.

The following morning, the Teams divided for the race across the fjord. The first Viking boat contained Lori & Bolo, Adam & Rebecca, Hayden & Aaron, Kris & Jon and Lena & Kristy. The second boat held Gus & Hera, Jonathan & Victoria, Meredith & Maria, Freddy & Kendra and Don & Mary Jean.

"This should be good, we are all strong teams here," observed Lena.

Indeed, as soon as the Viking sounded his horn to begin the race, the people on this first boat worked in unison, gliding across the water effortlessly.

When they reached the dock, Lena and Kristy quickly jumps out to get the next clue, instructing them to travel by train nearly 200 miles to the town of Voss. Once there, they had to drive five miles to a marked bridge, where they would find their next clue. They quickly got on their car to drive to the train station.

It was not a surprise when the sisters were first there, but soon the other teams came, and all 10 of them were on the same train to Voss, Norway.

Arriving there, Lena and Kristy lead the other teams as they drive to the marked bridge for their next clue. They opened theirs first.

DETOUR

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between Endurance and Accuracy. Teams choosing Endurance must roller ski through a one and three-quarter mile course to receive their next clue. Teams opting for Accuracy must successfully complete three games traditionally played by the Vikings. In Kubb, teammates had to work together throwing sticks to knock over a circle of eight logs called Kubbs before finally knocking over the king in the center. Then, one Team member must throw an axe into a tree trunk target. Once the axe stuck, the other Team member had to shoot an arrow into a target 30 feet away to earn the next clue.

They chose the Endurance, thinking that they'll finish faster when they ski. However, it proved to be a more daunting task, as Kristy keeps falling. Lena tries not to fall, and she was more successful than her sister, and the other teams as well. Indeed, she was better than Aaron, who kept falling on his bum and was yelled at by Hayden. Lori wasn't doing any better.

Finally, they finished the Detour and opened their next clue, instructing them to drive 15 miles to Nesheimstunet Village, a 1,000-year old traditional Norwegian farm and Pit Stop for this leg of the race.

Lena and Kristy hopped in to their cars and started to exit the Village.

"Turn right," said Kristy.

"Ok," Lena responded, while keeping her eyes on the road. She steered the wheel and cruised down the road.

It could be pure luck that the two realized they took a wrong turn before it was too late.

"We went the opposite direction we were supposed to go," said Lena.

They didn't waste anytime fighting, or throwing insults and blames. It wouldn't get them anywhere. So they quickly turned around towards the right direction, hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst.

When they got to the Pit Stop, they quickly left their bags in their car and ran towards the mat.

"Oh, please, don't let us be last!" prayed Lena.

The sisters stepped on the mat.

Phil looked at them. Kristy can't read his eyes, could this be that they are eliminated? We did our best, but I wish I could have stayed longer. thought Kristy sadly.

Phil: Lena and Kristy....

Lena and Kristy: [pause]

Phil: You're team number 9.

Lena and Kristy: "Oh thank God! Thank you Phil!"

The two gave Phil a hug and a little kiss on the cheeks.

"I'm married you know," Phil admitted.

"Who cares? You're in Norway. You're wife is not here." Lena giggled. She winked at Phil, but Phil seemed not to notice.

"You have to step off the mat, there's one more team coming," he told the sisters.

"Who?" Kristy asked.

"I can't tell you. Now, go over there and join your fellow racers."

Lena and Kristy walked towards the cabin, their step a little springy, feeling hopeful that they still have a chance to win this Race.

"Promise me we won't be dumb blondes again," Kristy said.

"We were not!" Lena laughed out loud.

C'mon, my favorite team was Kris & Jon and I don't even remember mentioning them more than once in my recap.

Come on! I mean, I gave you an idea on how it is to Race AS Lena and Kristy. I don't want to just "copy and paste" the Recap on CBS (which was what I planned to do if I didn't find the time), and, I won't feel writing anything if it's not about my fave team.

Also, I included team names if I remembered them, if they were mentioned in the CBS recap, and/or if they were mentioned by SurvivorLDog's (of Sucks) Play-by-play. Other than that, forgive my poor memory, but I can't remember all of the teams, let alone what they did/how they performed.

Don't worry, you won't have my next Recap until the 10th leg. Oh, and if Lena and Kristy are gone by that Leg, huh! Be prepared for your teams to be mutilated, dissected, incenerated, destroyed! Angry

PS: ilovemymariners, I made up the last part, about them talking to Phil. Cheesy

I would have added a part where Lena and Kristy met Meredith and Maria at Pit Stop, and the sisters found out the NY bestfriends were eliminated, but I thought the current Recap is long enough. Grin
