No More Yield?

Greetings...

I just realized that there has been no mention of the Yield from last season.  Did they do away with this part of the game?  I wasn't really too happy with the whole Yield concept, myself.

Until that time...

I guess it's still present. Check the glossary on CBS website.

It is still there, but I think they made it not available every leg, same as the Fast Forward.

No, look at CBS's website, in the Glossary I think, or Route Markers, I forgot. It says there, "The Yield is not available for this leg." That's for Leg 1 and 2.

I think there will still be a yield, but it'll probably show up fewer times.

I agree. All CBS has to go off of was the one use by C&K in TAR5. Maybe this will make them realize teams won't use it until the final four or cutthroat legs. Now they won't use it because they don't want to get on any other teams bad side. Thus, I wouldn't expect to see it until the final five at least, at most final six.

yeahh.. I guess they'd also have 3 Yields in this race like last season that are spread throughout the race....

Greetings...

Well, as much as I dislike the whole "Yield" concept (just a silly idea in my humble opinion), I would like to see it show up for just an episode or two - hopefully one (or more) of the teams would Yield Jonathan... not that he'd get the message, but at least then we wouldn't have to watch him anymore.

If the Yield is still in play, they'll probably bring it out for the non-elims only; they probably don't want anyone eliminated because of being Yielded.

Until that time...

i didn't really warm up to the whole yield thing until c/c got yielded. i think it could be interesting if used in proper amounts. you know, to initiate fights and rivalries.

The yield is no more silly than the fast forward.  In fact, the yield is more strategic.  The fast forward is a method for a team running woefully behind to catch up.  However, it can also be strategic in that several can try to do it on the same race segment.

Like the detour and roadblock, both offer strategic choices for the contestants and make it all the more interesting.  If TAR was merely about running from one point to another it would have been cancelled in its first season.

There was a Yield

We saw the first of only 3 Yields, and it was not a non-elimination leg! And no one used it.  Roll Eyes

If there are only 2 FFs and 2 Yields left, I bet you if they appear, they are non-elim legs.  Wink

Greetings...

It is incredible the difference of perceptions sometimes.  I have to remind myself that everyone in the race doesn't see all the things that I see watching the race.

It's incredulous that nobody decided to Yield Jonathan.  I almost flew through the television screen in an attempt to Yield them myself!  Why couldn't someone... anyone... Yield this guy?!   :wail:

Maybe by the time the next Yield comes around, the other teams will get the idea.

Until that time...
