The Top Ten Slowest Running Teams

This would be my top ten slowest running teams who have ever competed on the race.

At number ten, this team earned a final two spot, not by their speed, but by their smarts, and as some have argued, their fighting throughout the race.

Tenth slowest team: Teri and Ian

At number nine, this team had one member in particular who couldn't run and eventually cost them the race.

Ninth slowest team: Nancy and Emily

This team was one of the nicest teams to ever compete. But was in fact very slow.

Eighth slowest team: Peggy and Claire

This team suffered an injury in the very first leg, and they never were able to fully compete with the others.

Seventh slowest team: Marcia and Jim

This team also suffered an injury in the first leg, and walked the remainder of their run on the race.

Sixth slowest team: Steve and Dave

This team is the third oldest team to ever compete, but managed to be quite fit for their age.

Fifth slowest team: Bob and Joyce

This team was one of the most friendly teams to ever compete, but their speed ultimately did them in .

Fourth slowest team: David and Margaretta

This team was the oldest team to ever compete, and proved many people wrong who thought they would be the eleventh placed team in their season.

Third slowest team: Don and MJ

This team had the heaviest contestant to ever run the race. But up till about yesterday, they ran a good race.

Runner up for the slowest team: Gus and Hera

THE slowest team was one, if not the only truly inspirational team on the race. One team member was a bitch, but the other was someone who pushed through her partner's many weaknesses. However, running was their demise.

The slowest team to ever compete on TAR: Charla and Mirna.

There's more to the race than just running you know. In fact, out of all those teams there, i liked 8. of 10. not bad. Grin

Oh and IMO, running was not their demise. Delayed planes were their demise. If the plane would have arrived on time, Charla and Mirna and Linda and Karen would have placed in 1st and 2nd that leg, most likely. Which would have left Kami and Karli eliminated! Shocked

And I just know, Lana's going to have something to say about that! LOL! Grin

I agree with Heather. Charla was just slow at eating the ostrich egg. Furthermore, the teams were just minutes apart at the RB actually.

charla's size doesnt make her team the slowest running team.
she's small but i think she's the fastest small woman ever...!!
she moves her legs very fast....
for me, Gus and Hera are slower than Charla and Mirna...
dont get me wrong, i like them but Gus cant merely run...
i think steve and dave is the Slowest running team... they cant even run!!

debra/steve. didn't really run too. more like, rolled through the snow. sorry, but it's true.

I was actually the first one who read this thread after Mr. Rudy Rudy Rudy posted it. And it infuriated me! Out of annoyance and total resentment about specific things written here, I logged out.

Did you watch TAR5!? To be more specific episodes 1-7!? Because if you want a recap of Charla and Mirna's rankings I could feed you the information.

1st leg - 5th out of 11
2nd leg - 2nd out of 10 (difference of 5 seconds honey!)
3rd leg - 2nd out of 9
4th leg - 4th out of 8
5th leg - 2nd out of 7
6th leg - 5th out of 7
7th leg - eliminated

Yeah running was not their demise... I believe if they had to run against the brothers, they'll win over them! Anyway, that knee injury was a karma for them I believe. Haha! Mr. Rudy Rudy Rudy, it was so clear that the reason why C&M fell to the last place was because THEIR FLIGHT IS DELAYED! And you know what, to be delayed for 3 HOURS and still be able to catch up with the other teams at the roadblock is definitely unbelievable. That actually shows that the other teams are in fact slower in performing the tasks...

And I really do not appreciate You calling Mirna a bitch. I've defended her a lot of times and I don't mind doing that again here.

Well, though I like Charla and Mirna, I do have to agree that somehow, Charla's speed and Mirna's weakness did them in.

Consider this: There were TWO teams on the delayed flight. C&M and ... Linda and Karen. We know that how fit Linda and Karen are, and if Charla and/or Mirna was as fit as, say, the twins, or Lena and Kristy (do I really have to mention them, lol), C&M would have beaten the Bowling Moms on the Detour. And since I watched it several times now, and I am convinced that it was the Detour (deliver woodworks to some people) that really cost them the Race. It was a walking/running Detour, and though Charla was strong and could have pushed/pulled the stuff herself, she and Mirna couldn't have walked faster than Linda and Karen.

I have read that they considered doing the other Detour (bike towards a bee farm to perform a task there), but Charla can't ride a "normal" bike on her own, so that was out of the question. (Though I wondered if it was allowed for Mirna to just carry Charla on her own bike...)

PS: I look at the list and think that Charla and Mirna is the BEST Slow Team, thus their number one position? Or am I just too optimistic and considerate?

I didn't base this of rank in the race, just off speed. Steve and Dave made it far for a team that duidn't run outside of the opening sprint.

I do think Gus and Hera could still have beat Charla and Mirna in a footrace too. Gus and Hera were at least within ten feet of the other teams in the opening sprint. I really liked Charla and Mirna, its just they were slow.

coming in 10th, because of an excruciating roadblock, not of physical weakness, from TAR 6 LENA/KRISTY

coming in 9th, because of making a bad detour choice, from TAR6, AVI/JOE

coming in 8th, because of a final three plane mistake, from TAR4, DAVID/JEFF

coming in 7th, because of a mistake in Norway and Senegal, from TAR6, DON/MARY JEAN

coming in 6th, because of a flight mistake-going from Brazil-New York-London-South Africa (while other teams went Brazil-Paris-South Africa), from TAR2, PEGGY/CLAIRE

coming in 5th, because of physical weakness, from TAR4, DEBRA/STEVE

coming in 4th, because of an injury, from TAR4, STEVE/DAVE

coming in 3rd, because of making a wrong detour choice, from TAR6, GUS/HERA

coming in 2nd, because of stupidity, from TAR 4, STEVE/JOSH
and our winner of the slowest team ever, because of injury, physical weakness, and stupidity, from TAR5, MARSHALL/LANCE

(i like most of the teams here, they're just slow)

If you're talking about the chair detour, well, Mirna is so petite and pulling that cart meant an individual task for her because Charla can't barely push or pull the cart. And since they're the last two teams to choose among the addresses, their destinations are much more farther that the other teams. Another one, considering the huge built of the moms and the fact that they were showed a shortcut by one of the locals, that would definitely leave Mirna at the back of the race...
