The Amazing Race is back, and so are the awards. Who should take a lesson from past seasons? Which team obviously knows what theyre doing? And what quotable quotes are being spoken on the beach?

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a nice three weeks there. It doesnt seem like much of a break when you put it like that, does it?

Lets start right in. The first award of the season goes to Debbie and Bianca. I can see why Phil Kural made them his early Sentimental Favorites, and it looks like theyre going to prove to be a tough team to beat. These two receive The Remote Control of Past Seasons Viewing. Debbie and Bianca are obviously familiar with The Amazing Race, since they knew to check all of the times on Playa Hermosa before digging for their tickets. You never know which time will be the earliest, and Bianca and Debbie were bright to make sure they werent getting stuck with a bad time.

On the flip side, the second award is The DVD Collection of Past Seasons. Im giving this Collection to a record four tears - Ron & Kelly, Megan & Heidi, Ryan & Chuck, and Meredith & Gretchen. None of these pairs checked the other times on the beach before digging for tickets. Because of this error in judgment, all four teams wound up getting tickets for the 7:40 flight - the last one. Maybe after viewing all of the past seasons of The Amazing Race, theyll know better. Ron and Kelly should also use the DVDs to help them learn to check the times of every possible flight before booking one. They got lucky by booking the better one, but luck will only get you so far in this game.

Debbie and Bianca are also worthy of another award - The Broken Barbie Doll of Empowerment. (I previously gave this award to the women of the sixth season after they all chose to do a Roadblock.) As a reader informed me, Bianca and Debbie are the first two-woman team to come in first at the first Pit Stop of a season. They are also the first two-woman team to come in first at a Pit Stop without the aid of a Fast Forward. Keep up the good work, Debbie and Bianca!

Because I wont get the chance to give them another award, Ryan and Chuck receive The Nice Guys Finish Last Award. They may be my favorite team to ever be eliminated from The Amazing Race first. (Second would be Debra and Steve from the fourth season.) I hope that they remain nice guys and, at some point in their lives, finish first anyway.

Rob and Amber, everyones favorite/least favorite Survivors, get The Car Manual of Helpfulness. Im not sure how much time they spent trying to open their trunk at the beginning of the episode, but it was way too much. If they hope to win the race, theyll have to get over those little hurdles. Maybe next week theyll figure out how to turn on the air conditioning.

Finally, Brian and Greg receive The Kevin & Drew Honorary Plaque of Good Dialogue (previously awarded to Don last season). Im not sure who said what, but after finding their tickets to the 7:00 flight, one brother said, Does 7 come before 7:40? and the other replied, Where I grew up, yeah. Lets hope these two keep up the unintentionally funny dialogue so we can keep being entertained.

Next week: everyone still hates Rob and Amber, apparently.

i think if they found some fan of theirs around the parking lot, they'll be asking him/her to open it for them.

Someone tell the author of the article that this distinction goes to Mary and Peach of TAR2. They came in first in Leg 6 without the aid of the Fast Forward.

Yes, sneeze it is every week. However, it's usually a few days after the episode. Not sure why, I don't think it would take that long to write. If you want to, you could look up the awards from previous races. After I post the awards for this episode, I'll be sure to add my own.
