Leg 2 Recap-"Big Hands Help"

They're off again! What an amazing episode! Phil informs us that all teams are in Cuzco Peru, which was once the capital of the Inca empire. He tells us it is one of the oldest cities in the western hemisphere.

Phil: Will Rob and Amver contiue to use their superior notariary to get ahead? And will Ron and Kelly climb out of last place, after narrowly escaping elimination?

Debbie and Bianca depart first at -10:54 pm-
Debbie and Bianca are informed that they must travel by bus to the city of Arequipa, Peru! And they're off! Bianca thinks it's very important that she and Debbie be the 1st women to win the race.

Susan and Patrick are the second to depart at -11:05pm-

Rob and Amber depart at -11:09pm-

As the three teams arrive at the bus station, Rob and Amber are already up to their old tricks. When they arrive Rob and Amber decide to see if there is an earlier bus than the one that Debbie and Bianca found. Fortunately for them there is! But they keep it secret from Debbie and Bianca and Susan and Patrick!

Back to the departures:

Brian and Greg -11:59-
As Brian and Greg depart they decide that they will hail a taxi cab for themselves and for Lynn and Alex! They say that they want to make many friends on the race,

Lynn and Alex -12:00-
Meredith and Gretchen -12:24-
Ray and Deana -12:41-
Uchenna and Joyca -12:47-
Megan and Heidi -12:55-
Ron and Kelly -12:58-

All teams are now at the bus station. Rob and Amber decide that they will tell only Uchenna and Joyce and Ray and Deana that there is an earlies bus. Rob had apparantly paid a guy not to TELL ANY OF THE OTHER teams that there is an earlier bus. But, when Lynn and Alex arrive, they talk to that guy, who points them in the direction of ROB! Uh-oh! Well, Debbie and Bianca now confront Rob and Amber. In the end all teams end up on the same bus. A 10 hours ride. Brian and Greg feel they have a connection and have made friends with Megan and Heidi.

Rob, up to his old tricks again, pays the bus driver to NOT open the back door. Teams get frusterated, but eventually when the bus arrives, the driver opens the door. Off they go!

ROADBLOCK: Who loves shoes?
In this roadblock teams must choose a shoe shine representative to go with them. They must shine 5 pairs of shows. When they have completed the task, they must make their way to the shoe shine union headquarters, where they will find their next clue.

Everyone makes their way to the streets "Shoe shine?" Lynn as some trouble finding people who want their shoes shined, and so does Joyce. Ron finishes the roadblock first, and is informed that he and Kelly are on the first flight out to Santiago Chile. Everyone finishes the Roadblock.

1st flight out

2nd Flight out
Debbie and Bianca
Megan and Heidi
Brian and Greg
Lynn and Alex
Uchenna and Joyce

All teams are now on their way to Santiago, Chile by Lima, Peru and Buenos Aires, Aregentina. When they land they must make their way to the statue to find their next clue. Flight 1 lands and Ron and Kelly, Ray and Deana, and Rob and Amber arrive first to the funicular. All teams then eventually make their way to the detour.

DETOUR

Shop or Schlep?
In shop teams must travel two miles to a restaurant to get a traditional chilean recipe from the chef, then they must enter the maket and buy 5 ingredients on the list and bring them to the chef, to get their next clue.
In Schlep, teams must travel 2 miles to a books store, stack 180 books and bring them to the library of congree 8 blocks away, to get their next clue.

Susan and Patrick have trouble with money, so they have to beg, but they pull through.

At schlep Ron says that since he has big hands he can easily carry many books. Ron and Kelly, Brian and Greg and Debbie and Bianca are the teams that take 2 trips for carrying the books. BAD MOVE.

1. Rob and Amber finish the detour first, arriving at the pitstop first! Phil informs them that they have one a trip by Travelocity to Atlantis, which they can enjoy after the race.
2. Ron and Kelly come in second.
3. Ray and Deana
4. Uchenna and Joyce
5. Lynn and Alex
6. Debbie and Bianca
7. Meredith and Gretchen
8. Susan and Patrick
9. Brian and Greg
ELIMINATED
10. Megan and Heidi

Megan and Heidi are the second team out of the race, Brian and Greg found it difficult to watch them leave, and broke into tears. The teams hugged.
Megan-"I have an extreme pride for Heidi and I not giving up, theres many chances when we could have just looked at each other and said "you know what, we dont have it or I cant", the I cant never came out of our mouths"

Megan and Heidi say that they liked Brian and Greg a lot and wish them luck.
