Leg 5 Recap

Hey, this is my first time writing a recap and I really want to do a good job. Hope this is good enough for you, because I worked hard on it! Yay, here it is! Enjoy!

Teams found out that they had to fly from wherever-they-were-last (Buenos Aires, Argentina) to a place over 5000 miles away, Johannesburg, South Africa. When checking in for tickets, Ron & Kelly, and Uchenna & Joyce found that their bags were too large, and they had to check them. They were very mad about this, but checked their bags anyways since they were in such a hurry to get on the flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. Boarding the flight, teams realized that all 7 teams had made it onto the same flight. Rob was very mad about this because him and Amber had an eight-hour lead on the last place team, Meredith and Gretchen.  Getting off the plane in Johannesburg, Uchenna & Joyce realized that their bags had been lost, and they were really mad because they were in such a hurry, but in the end, they got them back, and managed. Getting out of the airport, teams would find their next clue lying inside marked cars parked directly outside. Ray & Deana discovered the cars first, and got the clue. Inside, they found the choice: Detour vs. Fast Forward. first of only two Fast Forwards on the entire Race. Since there were only 2 Fast Forwards in the whole race, the team chose this, and for this Fast Forward, Teams must travel 26 miles to the town of Soweto and make their way to the top of a cooling tower. Then, balancing 30 stories above the ground, they must cross a narrow suspension bridge to earn the Fast Forward award to jump ahead to the pit stop. Rob & Amber raced to the fast forward, only to find out that Ray & Deana had almost completed the task, so they ran back to do one of the choices on the Detour. For the detour, teams chose between Tunnels or Tribes. In Tunnels, teams had to travel 50 miles to underground caves and rappel 45 feet into the earth, searching the underground labyrinth for their next clue. Brian & Greg, Uchenna & Joyce, Ron & Kelly and Meredith & Gretchen chose Tunnels. Meredith & Gretchen were delayed twice during this task. For the first delay, Gretchen misread the clue, and thought you just had to get from inside the cave, to back out again. They completed this without finding the clue, and had to go back through the cave again looking for the clue. For the second delay, Gretchen fell down somewhere inside the cave looking for the clue, hurt hger head, got really bloody, and her and Meredith were very delayed by her serious injury. In Tribes, Teams had to drive 40 miles to the Lesedi Cultural Village, home to five different native tribes. Once there, they would find six traditional items, only five of which correspond to the five tribes in the village. To earn their next clue, Teams must deliver each of the items to the tribe that owns it. Lynn & Alex and Rob & Amber (Rob and Amber after finding out that they couldn't do the Fast Forward) chose Tribes.
Driving back from the detour, Meredith and Gretchen almost got themselves in a car accident.
Next, teams had to complete a roadblock. One member from each team had to go "shopping." In Soweto, South Africa, one Team member had to search a marketplace and purchase five items for a local orphanage to earn their next clue. Kelly, Greg, Lynn, Amber, Uchenna, Gretchen went shopping for their Teams on this leg. When delivering their items to the orphanage, each team dealt well with the orphaned children, and Uchenna and Joyce mentioned just how touched they were by the children. Joyce also happened to mention that she couldn't have kids, and her and Uchenna were thinking of adopting a kid [quite possibly from this orphanage].
After doing this roadblock, teams had to proceed to the pitstop in Soweto, South Africa. Ray & Deana came in first place, and each won a new white Toyota RAV4 car. After that, teams proceeded to the pitstop one by one, while Meredith & Gretchen hung behind. Held back by fear of elimination, they approached the pitstop soon to be hit with both good news and bad news. The good news was, that this leg (lucky for them) was a non-elimination leg. Although, as a punishment, they had to have all their money taken away from them, just as in the past seasons. Although, this season, the Philiminator has added something new: To Meredith's and Gretchen's shock, they were both also stripped of literally everything except for their passports and literally the clothes on their backs. This included money, personal items, other clothes, bags, possessions... etc. In the end, they still managed and continued on in the Race. Thanks for reading!

Good job, TAR! Next time, though, you need to have more spacing between the paragraphs. It looks like a duanting, giant block of text to me.

But yeah, next time put spacing between paragraphs because if I turn away for a second it is hard to find my place again.

I only watched the episode once, never rewatched it... I just got all my info back from the CBS website, it has all the details under Race-->Story or Routemarkers (For details on Roadblocks/Detours/FastForwards/Yields)

Mine last season was creative, but I didn't think it was exciting. (Dig it out if you want to take a look)
