help! help me! i've been kid--well, it's one way of saying it--napped! there was me, one second, just chillin' in my island home of kiz located in my 'hood istanbul, where kiz kulesi (ed: also called leander's and maiden's tower) stands. then the next second, i'm gnomenapped! my captors are an african-american couple who call each other uchenna and joyce. where could they be taking me?!

hello, i am jerome the gnome and i seem to be in a bit of a conundrum. you see, i have been taken hostage and am now being lugged around the city by an elderly couple. the female, i think, is named meredith gretchen; the male, i still do not know, but i have a nagging feeling i've heard them say it before. well anyway, oooh, we are alighting this taxi and, hey wait a minute, i think i know this place. this is galata kulesi, i reckon. and now we are going up the tower... now we're going down... going up again... and then downwards once more. what are they doing? oh, so that's what they're looking for, a little green box... with yellow mail inside. it's says it's a detour. what in blazes is a detour?

"a detour is a choice between two tasks each with its pros and cons"

hey, who said that? oh, wait a second, the woman said they'll do "kilos". where are we off to now?

hey, it's me, tyrone, again. uchenna and joyce are almost done... oh, they're done. whoopdeedoo. where could we be going next? you see, we have been in yeni camii square--you know, the plaza outside the new mosque?--for a little while now. they've been weighing people. yeah. i know. what cockamamie task are these two gonna do next? i think i heard them talking about going to rumeli hisari, the 550-year old european fortress. what are they gonna do there? climb the walls?

(whispering) please help me. two people are looking for me and i think my other companions have already been gnomenapped. d'you hear that? they seem to be a couple, and i think the guy doesn't even know what a gnome looks like. i think the guy is in charge, but doesn't seem to be too intelligent... omigod! they saw me!

blech! i'm seasick... one of the reasons gnomes should left alone and unmoved. i'm ramon, by the way, and two humans have abducted me. they're transporting me away from my home besides the kiz tower! *grumble-grumble* oh my... blech!

"ewww... ron! our gnome is discharging a weird barf-like substance!"

"oh shush kelly! i'm trying to figure out whether we take the ferry or a taxi; i'm actually strategizing!"

"you don't like me anymore!"

huh. uchenna did climb the walls (using a rope ladder). and took some key (he took some time in this part). and rappeled back down. he then opened the gate for the missus and then we all went up to this guy who said to them sum'n about being first and who promptly looked at the soles of my feet. looks like i disappointed uchenna and joyce a bit. too bad.

RUMELI HISARI

jerome here. my humans are looking for a "man with scales". could they looking for a man with a collectanea of weighing scales, a common sight at turkish squares? or maybe a freak-showy human with fish scales walking around, a common sight nowhere! whatever he may be, we cannot find him.

red-cap and stick-girl--that's what i've decided to call my humans--have taken me to the galata tower. and now we're in a taxi again, going to yeni camii square, i think.

boy, how these people do fight a lot. they [wrongly] went up the galata tower after the gal made the call. and now, i think she's blaming him? oh well. they eventually found the green box they were looking for. let's do "columns", he says. i think this entails going to the old byzantine, or birbindirek, cistern-slash-glorified well. we're heading there now...

i cannot look. my female human, meredith gretchen, is climbing this shaky 25-foot rope ladder up the wall of rumeli hisari and she is not having an easy time!

red-cap and stick-girl are rounding up the denizens of istanbul to weigh them. and to push them rudely after they're done. they sure are doing this task fast...

ron and kelly just finished the "columns" task. they took longer than i expected. i think they're getting nervous about being beat by some entity called romber. we're heading to rumeli hisari, "pitstop" to them, now...

after talking to herself the whole time, meredith gretchen managed to climb the ladder in a brisk fashion. after a while, she let her husband and me in the gate and we ran up a hill to this guy who said, "meredith and gretchen, you're team number two". the guy then looked at my feet and said some bad news. but it still looks as if my humans are still happy.

red-cap is inside the castle now while some other humans are arriving. oh! they have my pal ramon with them! stick-girl looks nervous. i think they're in some kind of race? geez, i hope these other people win over my kidnappers. doh! argh. red-cap just appeared from inside the gate and is ushering stick-girl inside. well, i guess that's not gonna happen since the male of the other team is still up top of the castle's tower. and does he seem lost.

and who's this other person upon the hill? he saying my captors arrived third.

what is taking ron too long? i think maybe our team just lost, kelly doesn't look too happy. oh, there he is! now we're going inside.

we approached another human after entering the gate. he has a weird facial expression if i might say so myself... he said the team arrived last. but... he's happy to tell us that this is a non-elimination leg (am not sure what this is, but it sounds relieving, ne?) and that the team is still in the amazing race! but he took all the money and possesions.

the other human then looked at my soles and said that my team won a prize! oh yeah! a night at a suite in the four seasons! and $20,000 worth of travelling!

now, maybe they could send me back to my island home now?

Some comments: I think it was very creative and colourful and unique. It must have taken a while. I liked the pictures you added into it as well.

Critiques: Umm Amber being called a stick-girl. I love amber, that's kinda mean. Shocked
