The Amazingly Rigged Amazing Race
The Amazing Race 7 is now the latest reality TV show to come under fire from fans making accusations of the outcome being rigged. Most of the controversy stems from an American Airlines plane being re-opened for Uchenna and Joyce. When Uchenna and Joyce initially approached an American Airlines agent about getting on the plane, they were told quite clearly No Im sorry. Its closed.

Then, there was a commercial break. Somehow during the commercial break, American Airlines agents went from No, Im sorry. Its closed; to The Pilot said yes. Next thing you know, the agent that had walked away from Uchenna and Joyce is now suddenly taking their ticket with a big smile on her face. Viewers have been left wondering about what transpired to make American Airlines agents so quickly change their attitude.

There seemed to be a gap in the segment that possibly would have explained how Uchenna and Joyce were able to pull off this miraculous feat. Did anyone else talk to American Airlines on behalf of Uchenna and Joyce? What did the ticket agent say to the pilot to get the plane re-opened?

A report on RealityBlurred.com draws attention to a recent TV Guide interview. In the interview, Uchenna says that she yelled at the ticket agent in order to get her to call the pilot but it wasnt aired on the show. Of course, this statement only raises the question of have you ever known a reality TV show to not air any yelling confrontations? Especially one that greatly impacts the outcome of the show.

If Uchenna and Joyce had not made it onto that plane, then Rob and Amber would almost certainly have coasted to victory. CBS would not have had a dramatic, nail-biting finish to the Amazing Race 7. Amazing Race has often been held up an example of quality reality TV programming but outstanding questions over the plane incident could tarnish its image. Hopefully, some day CBS will release the unaired footage that will show how Uchenna and Joyce were able to get the plane re-opened.

SEE WHAT'S HAPPENED FROM ALL THE DAMN DISCUSSION OF WHETHER TAR IS RIGGED OR NOT! DO YOU GUYS WANT IT TO GO OFF AIR!!! NOO..LETS STOP TALKING ABOUT IT IF YOU REALLY LOVE TAR!

Well too bad Kendra, i think they exact thing that they are saying and obviously more people than just me are thinking the same way, they must be getting complaints, and they deserve it if they did something cause its bothering me.

I was rewatching the episode a few nights ago when i spotted the same thing they said. The people said No im sorry , the gates are closed or whatever....

commercial break...

then i was just like they cant say anything more, its closed period finished finito done !! byeee!! but then they are like ok just a sec ill call the pilot after commercial! SO obviously something did go on in those few minutes we were disconnected!!! argggggg its so annoyinggggggg Angry

Sorry Hayden, I will never believe that the best show in the world is rigged! THE BEST SHOW IN THE WORLD (TAR), lol!!! It might be, but even if it is, it doesn't matter because it rox! And, If people want to complain about it, don't be too loud hehe because TAR might stop airing, or be altered in some way!

And oh geez, just because it happened to be the finale, and just because it happened to be Rob and Amber who were affected, TAR is all of a sudden "rigged." Like come on, if it was any other team that was in the position that Rob and Ambuh were in, nothing would have happened, and TAR wouldn't be labeled "rigged."

Debbie and Bianca lost cause of the stupidest mistake, and not everyone is going around saying rigged..geez..

I believe that the reason the confrontation was edited out was because U/J were being portrayed as the good couple. I remember Lynn and Alex had been shouted at by a stressed Joyce, and she apologized later on. But we didn't see it, because it will put them in a bad light, which the producers/editors/whoever doesn't want to do.

Which proves that editing CAN make you or break you.

AND, TAR isn't rigged.

Agreed, it is all in the editing, what reason would they have to fix the race? And they would also have to keep a lotta people quiet about it.

No, if U/J had missed the flight, they could have used editing to make it look like they caught up to Romber. And why wouldn't they want their Golden Couple to Win the race? If anything, it was "rigged" in favor of Romber.

Now what do all your romber lovers have to say about that? Roll Eyes

They shouldn't have even been on the show

As to the article, they could have wrote an article for any number of scenes in TAR i.e Kris and Jon and the train (RIGGED) but they didnt, they only wrote this one becuase we are discussing it far too much!!! hehe!!!

I'll never believe it was rigged, because I LOVE TAR! Wink

My point is, that it might be rigged, it even could be, maybe IT IS! But, they just happen to mention and talk about it now, when there where so many other episodes with things that happened that could have been rigged, so I believe everyone is making a fuss about it because it was Rob and Amber... Grin
