Well it was pretty bad for me. In the 10th leg, 2 trailing teams (Kevin&Drew and Team Guido) found themselves 24 hours behind the leading teams (Rob&Brennan and Frank&Margarita) because of the Hours-of-Operation thing. They were never able to recover.
 
 
At least my 2 fave teams of the season finished top 2.  Cool

TAR1 was very different from the later seasons.
 
1. In the opening scenes, there was a voiceover by Phil. It also looked totally different.
 
2. Route marker flags were yellow and WHITE.
 
3. The greeter at the pit stop was also the person who told the teams of their position. You would only see Phil if you were the last team to check in.

What do you mean by a voiceover?!
 
That sounds awsome..did the same things that were in TAR1 (i.e voiceover by phil, route markers yellow and white etc.) continue into TAR2 or was it changed in TAR2?

TAR 2 was like all the later seasons. Everything was changed to what it's like now.

During the intro where they show the teams, Phil says something about TAR. It's something like...
 
"This is the most (many words) race ever attempted. 11 2 person teams, bound by friendship, love and family, will race around the world for 1 millions dollars. No one knows what's in store for them, what (many words) they will take (I forgot the rest)"
 
I actually memorized it when I watched Season 1 but that was several months ago so I forgot about it.
 
Also, the first few episodes of TAR1 will "feel" differently than what we are used to watch. I remember when I watched the first episode, I thought it was quite boring! There was little music, and it has the feel of a documentary. Also, sometimes they skip a team doing a task, so you might be surprised if a team checks in at the Pit Stop without seeing them do the Detour or Roadblock.

That's right, Joe & Bill had arrived last in leg 9 when Nancy & Emily (mother & daughter) are eliminated because of 24-hour penalty, thus they'll be remain in 24 hour trail of three teams.
 
They did not cross the finish line in New York. They stuck in Alaska together.

I don't think it's fair that for TAR1 they had 24 hour penaltys and the teams lost because of them, but for tar7 teams could take penaltys to win..NOT FAIR

Anyway, the 4 hour penalty had been in place since TAR1.
