Pitstop Times...

has anyone found it strange that on TAR, wherever they go, there is almost always great weather! a couple episodes it was rainy, but most of the time its either cloudy or sunny! do you think the producers extend the pitstops as long as they need, just so the weather is decent?

Really?  Did that happen?  I didn't realise that.
But I don't think they would extend the pit stops...the weather...it's just coincedence.

I dont think that happened... The pitsops are a mandatory 12 hours so 3pm means they leave at 3am. Sometimes they will make the pitstops 36 hours to give the crew and teams some time to rest up.

Yo know I have never noticed the weather. Though it depends on where they go and what time of year they go you know? Some regions dont get rain except for  a few months a year so the producers could make sure they dont go there during the rainy season?

I agree, I think they study the weather/season in the country that they'll be visiting. TAR went here in the Philippines around February, and there are usually no storms at that time.

That makes a lot of sense.  No one really likes bad weather.  Plus it's hard for the cameraman, soundman to be in the rain.  Also not every task could be properly done in the rain.  Sometimes places close also.

Maybe they have the actual times but they dont show the real ones. If it rains, they would tape the pitstop thing.

^Really?

I heard that in TAR 2 the pitstop in South Africa was 36 hours long because Peggy/Claire were almost a day behind all the other teams.

That's good, because you have more time to rest and socialize and maybe visit the sights.  Smiley
