Hometown Heros.
« on: Dec 7th, 2005, 8:31am »

Today there was an article again in our local paper about The Amazing Race. The Weavers, whom have been nicknamed the Hometown Heros, have made their way in the final episode making the twon and community around them proud. Below is the article.

Recap of Tuesday's 'Amazing Race'
Catherine Klasne

Staff Writer

Dec. 7, 2005

The Weavers of Ormond Beach reached the mat third Tuesday, a good enough finish for them to qualify for the show's final episode and the final battle for $1 million.
IN FIRST PLACE: The Bransens. AND they won a new car.

ELIMINATED: The fighting Godlewskis, bickering across Wyoming and Montana.

The Linzes finished a disappointing second again because their brain power didn't match their brawn. They neglected to look for a golf ball in the actual hole, and that slip cost them.

Both the Weavers and the Godlewskis chose a seemingly more difficult task than the other two teams at the beginning of the episode, electing to erect a teepee. The Linzes and the Bransens got off to a good start by quickly fastening wheels to an Old West wagon, then hitched horses to it for a short drive.

The Linzes finished second, but one of them can always be counted on to utter that fateful phrase, "That was really stupid."

As for the Weavers, Rebecca summed up their success by saying, "It's God's will."

Tune in to Channel 6 at 9 p.m. Dec. 13 to find out if the Weavers finish in the money.

Alot of attention in our community lately has been faced on the Weavers. As you drive through the city you notice all kinds of billboards and signs on stores which says something as, "Go Weavers!" Just for a family that has been so much, making it this far is truly amazing.

Good luck Weavers. If it is in God's Will you will prevail, but remember love thy neigbors!  Cool

I think this is the first time that I remember a whole town rooting for a TAR team. I think it's great.  Smiley

I guess it may sound very odd to some of you, but after you live here and heard about this family for so long you feel for them. They had a death in the family which was very horrible not only to them but everyone. It could have been another worker out there or something. Also previously in 1998 there wonderful ranch style home was burnt down by the 1998 Wildfires here in Florida.

I dont know, I mean... Whateva. The editing is complelty different from how they really are and even today if you ask Linda, Rebecca, Rachel, or Rolly about how there portaryed they will quickly tell you, "It's reality TV and we love it."

Roll Eyes That's exactly why i DONT like them. They believe that God should pay special attention to them, like he has nothing better to do than fix a race for them. There are disasters going on in the world, but God just has to make sure you win The Amazing Race. Please.

The Weavers are going to be second~  Angry
I hate the Weavers. They keep talking about God this and God that..but they are not as religous as they act. They wouldn't be that mean or negative if they believed the true meaning of religion. flame

GO BRANDSEN AND LITZ....WIN WIN WIN.  Cool

I know we dislike some TAR teams but attacking them on a personal level (wishing them harm and such) is not allowed here. Thanks.

Your so immature!

Anyway, are you people not religious? Do you not believe in your creator, the Lord Jesus Christ? I mean come on!

You dont know if you will live to see tomorrow, it is in God's Will. He makes the decisions in your life - not you!

Okay. Religon Talk 101 is over! Lips Sealed

Not everyone is religious and believes in God or that we have a creator, and I don't think it is right to try and push people into believing in religion. And God makes the decisions in my life? No, I make the decisions in my life. God doesn't control what we do, we control our own actions.

Anyways, your right this isn't the place for a religious debate, so I'll stop now.

I'm might be immature and everything, but everytime i see the topic, i can't help but giggle madly.

I think Lord Jesus must be so busy during the filming of TAR 8, just when he was about to take a nap, the Weavers will come with a "Please lord, help us find this place" or even when he was taking a bath, he's supposed to help the Weavers get into the correct direction or whatsoever. I think he deserved a break by ignoring their prayers in the finals and let the Weavers finish third. *or have i gone too far*?

And talking about being religious and believing in Lord Jesus, the Weavers, who proclaimed they are Christians and everything, don't seemed to act like they are, or are they? Hmmm, makes people wonder.
