Well, yes, that wraps it all up, I must admit. Serious problem. Earth to Amazing Race... hello! This rocket should be going up, not down... It's hard to believe: Another Amazing Race Season is coming to an end. And what a turbulent and often sweet ride it has been. Since the beginning, this knotty Family Edition has seeded the growls of discontent from concerned fans, internet pundits and major media streams alike. Major grumbling. The main points of displeasure with this abridged Racing format have been, A) young children and B) domestic routes. Yet despite the huge outpouring of agony, the Nielsen Ratings for the program have remained fairly steady, and — even after the repeated mocking bits about the Family Edition's much anticipated collapse — the numbers and demos have been unexpectedly high. Week after week the national viewing audience has hovered close to 11 million. I can only say myself that after bearing the burden with The Amazing Race during the lowly Second and Third Seasons, and not seeing the numbers rise much over 6 million, the current standings are hardly depressing.
