Yay, another episode of The Amazing Race! Wink

On the first episode, 11 teams of 2 set off on a race around the world. The first destination was Sao Paulo, Brazil. After lots of screaming, helicopters, trouble looking for clue boxes, and genies, John and Scott were eliminated. 10 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

Eric and Jeremy, who were the first team to arrive at 5:34 pm, will depart at 5:34 am. "Make your way to Edificio Copan and find Bloco F for your next clue." The first four teams arrive there, and find that it won't be open until 8:00 am. All 10 teams catch up.

Roadblock!

Who's ready for a fire drill? In this roadblock, one person must climb to the top of one of 3 fire escapes. After they get to the top they must rapel over 400 feet down to the bottom. The racers must go down in the order that they arrive to the top.

BJ decides to take the farthest fire escape, leaving him a chance to get done with no competition. Joseph passes Dave and Lake, and Fran and Joni are the last two people to get to the top.

Jeremy and Joseph are the first two guys to finish, and both recieve their next clue. "Travel to the Barra Funda Bus Station and find tickets for one of 3 charter buses, leaving at 10:15 am, 11:15 am, and 12:15 pm." The bus will take the teams to Brotas, Brazil, where they will then have to choose a VW Bug.

Meanwhile, back at the fire escape, Danielle is not enjoying it so much. I cant. Ill have a heart attack. Im really so nervous. I hate this.

Fran comforts her to get her over her fears, and Danielle does it, realizing she can do anything.

All the teams finish the Roadblock and make their way to the Bus station. On the first bus are BJ/Tyler, Joseph/Monica, and Eric/Jeremy. On the second bus are Ray/Yolanda, Wanda/Desiree, and Dave/Lori. The third bus, arriving 2 hours after the first, carry Lake/Michelle, Fran/Barry, Danielle/Dani, and Lisa/Joni.

After arriving in Brotas, the teams find a Detour. Press It or Climb It. In Press it, teams must go to a plantation and make raw sugar into juice. Then using this juice, they are to make 500ml of ethanol.

In Climb It, teams must climb a waterfall 90-feet using ascenders.

The first 3 teams all opt to go for the climb.

BJ and Tyler finish the Detour with no problem. They recieve their next clue. "Make your way to the Fazenda Primavera da Serra, the 2nd pitstop in a race around the world."

The teams on the second bus are now making their detour decisions. Ray/Yolanda go for the Climb It detour while Dave/Lori and Wanda/Desiree choose the Press It detour.

BJ/Tyler and Eric/Jeremy continue their way to the pitstop. Along the way, the two teams get divided. BJ/Tyler keep going, and Eric/Jeremy decide to stop for help. In the end, BJ/Tyler make it to the pit stop in 1st place, and win a trip to Tahiti to use after the race.

Eric/Jeremy come in 2nd, and Joseph/Monica come in 3rd.

Lake/Michelle finish their detour next, followed by Fran/Barry. Meanwhile, Lisa/Joni were having some car problems. Oh, my god, this is hard to drive this car. Oh, so were supposed to enjoy looking at the scenery? Im fixing to pass out from the damn exhaust fumes.

Dave/Lori and Ray/Yolanda make it to the pitstop next, getting 4th and 5th place. Wanda/Desiree come in 6th, as the last bus teams start finding their way to the pitstop. Lake/Michelle and Danielle/Dani arrive, getting 7th and 8th place.

At the same time, Fran/Barry's car broke down. What a way to get eliminated". A replacement car was brought to them, but as the rules say, no time credit is given in unlucky situations such as this.

With only two teams left to touch the finish line mat, both teams thought for sure they were eliminated. Fran/Barry arrived, and were thrilled to hear they were in 9th place.

Which leaves the sisters Lisa/Joni. Upon hearing of their elimination, Lisa broke into tears. Joni just had words of encouragement. I feel like were winners. Just given the opportunity to go around the world, to experience the race with my sister, money cant buy that. Theres no way a million dollars could ever buy that.

Nice! first recap of the season. I don't see the images either. I think it's because the tarflies owner shut off hotlinking or something.

No, I don't see any of the images, and I went through Netscape, IE, and Firefox, haha.

And werid thing is I just looked at this site through IE and Firefox, and my avatar doesn't appear, but in Netscape it does. Huh
