I guess maybe TAR isn't as popular in those parts of Europe as it is in the US and in Asia.

Hi. I come from Poland and I apply for Central Europe edition so I can write some information on this topic.
First there were only about 200 teams from Poland who send application (VIII-X 05). Then we must make a 3minutes film with us (XII05 - I06). And then there were only one casting with only 50 teams (11-12III06) for people from Poland. I heard than a team from Czech was chosen few days before.
Programm should be filming in May 2006. However it was cancelled.
Why?
1 Like you said there were only 2500 teams from all Central Europe countries
2 AXN in Poland isn't very Popular. Only about 10% people in our country have got this channel.
3 In our country making reality shows (we got only 3 editions of Big Brother in 2001/02)  is now out of date and very expensive. And it's cheaper to shows reality's from USA like Bachelor (in our country there were only one polish edition, and now we can watch editions from USA). They prefere to show us american Amazing Race (1 - 7 series).
However in our country there are some Amazing Race and all reality show's fans.
When we wrote to AXN last time they reply that they will make  Amazing race Central Europe in 2007. We hope so.

Best wishes from fans of Amazing Race from Poland. (We would like to have Our edition as good as Yours).

(Sorry for my English)

Hey!!! Welcome to ForumsNet! I hope you can join us in our discussions. Smiley

Thanks for the info about TAR CE. It's quite unfortunate it didn't go through. I'd love to see a new version of TAR. I think it would be neat!

I have a feeling there will be an Amazing Race: Australia..
I have no proof to back this up, it is just a feeling I have.. Australia and America have very similar audiences, who enjoy similar shows. We often air American shows to see if there is an audience in Australia, and then if there is an audience, film an Aussie version.
We did this with Survivor when this year 'Celebrity Survivor' was filmed with an all-aussie cast and new host.. however it didnt rate very well and was deemed a failure.
At the moment they have moved TAR into prime time television, airing an hour earlier than all other seasons.. i think this may lead to an Australian edition.

i actually read on the all-star spolers thread that there was a sighting of a route marker in australia, at hyde park i think....apparently that happened a few days ago.........n now i've read in this thread that tar central europe may see the light in 2007..................
i wonder if the spoiler is actually true, cause if it is the sighting may surely belong to tar central europe!!!!!!!!!!!!

probably, the asia one is from what it looks like right now.

A TAR Australia would be cool. I see that The Biggest Loser did an Australian season... with the same American trainers too. So, Phil could host the Australian edition. Maybe if it's Australian/New Zealand together. Tongue
