Report: Police investigating Nelson Agholor over alleged sexual assault
The Eagles confirmed Friday that they are aware of a police investigation into wide receiver Nelson Agholor, who reportedly has been accused of sexually assaulting a dancer at a Philadelphia strip club. Denver Broncos Jerseys
The Philadelphia Police Department did not name Agholor as a suspect but announced that the alleged assault took place Thursday afternoon at Cheerleaders Gentlemen's Club in South Philadelphia. Police said in a statement that an allegation was made "regarding a sexual assault and a member of the Philadelphia Eagles organization."
Philadelphia magazine, which reported the incident cheap NFL Jerseys earlier Friday, identified Agholor as the Eagles player under investigation.
"We are aware of the police investigation involving Nelson Agholor," Derek Boyko, a spokesman for the Eagles, said in a statement. "The organization has been in contact with Nelson and with the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment."
Agholor has not been charged with a crime. Attorney Fortunato Perri Jr., who is representing Agholor, said, "Nelson has not been involved in any criminal conduct whatsoever" and would not discuss the allegations against him.
"Once everybody investigates, I believe he will be exonerated," said Agholor's agent, Roosevelt Barnes. "They're going through the investigation now. It's a shame his name is out there in the media at this time."
Sources told Philadelphia magazine that at least two other Eagles players were with Agholor at the club, which is located near the team's NovaCare Complex. The Eagles finished the final practice of their June minicamp Thursday.
Eagles defensive end Wholesale Denver Broncos Jerseys Connor Barwin identified himself as one of those present Thursday afternoon at Cheerleaders.
"As a result of my name being mentioned in conjunction with this alleged incident, I would like to clarify that I was only present at the establishment for a very short period of time and have no knowledge Wholesale NFL Jerseys about anything that happened after I left the establishment," Barwin said in a prepared statement. "I stopped by there for about a half hour to meet my teammates, and left around 2:30 p.m."
Agholor, 23, was the Eagles' first-round draft choice in 2015 out of USC. He caught 23 passes for 283 yards in a disappointing rookie season that was marred by an ankle injury.
