There are physical or chemical methods to improve the compatibility of wood-plastic composite composite interface. Physical methods include surface fibrillation and discharge treatment. In the surface modification of plant fiber, solid composite posts low temperature plasma discharge, sputtering discharge, corona discharge, more and more people's attention.

The sputtering discharge treatment mainly caused the change of the physical aspects, such as the surface becomes rough and so on to enhance the interface between the adhesive properties. The role of plasma, including the acquisition of protons and the formation of unstable groups, so that alcohol, aldehyde, ketone, carboxylic acid and other functional groups change. Discharge treatment can improve the mechanical properties of outdoor artificial wood ceiling the composites by decreasing the viscosity of the fibers / polymer melt. Corona discharge reduces the melt viscosity of the composites by changing the surface energy of the cellulose molecules.

Chemically, a layer of nonpolar material is coated on the surface of the fibrous filler prior to recombination with the polymer matrix to improve interfacial compatibility and fiber dispersibility in the plastic matrix. Chemical methods generally have graft copolymerization treatment, coupling agent treatment, the infiltration of plant fiber treatment, alkali metal solution swelling treatment and substitution reaction and acetylation treatment of short wood fences Building Materials and Components several methods. Graft copolymerization is a common method of modifying polymeric materials. This method is widely used to modify the chemical properties and polarity of cellulose fillers and other kinds of fillers.
