Hi,
My name is ed poole and I own the website called LearnAboutMoviePosters.com.
This is a response to my recently acquired Worst of the Web award.

To see how I achieved this great honor, I wanted to know what judges would be qualified to bestow this upon me?? Upon reading their self proclaimed high experience rate, I understand why they have to pat themselves on the back;. One 24 years old, one 25 and the last 27 and each with about 10 years of experience;.I guess that would qualify them as experts!!!

My field is collecting movie posters and since I have almost 35 years experience in the hobby, written the ONLY 2 reference books on the subject, currently write a monthly column in the largest monthly collectors magazine teaching beginners and have a FREE teaching website that has approximately 75-80,000 collectors a WEEK from around the world coming to it; I think I could also classify myself as an expert.

I ve only been on the internet for 2 years.. but I ve spent it trying to educate those who didn t know anything about my area of expertise but wanted to learn. And along the way, I ve done the best I can to try to learn as much as possible on how to correctly program a website.

At my age, it s really irritating to see so called experts try to elevate themselves by patting themselves on the back and looking around to criticize others who know less than them instead of trying to help them. I don t call them experts. I call them assholes.

My site may be Worst on the web. And thats ok as long as the people who come for knowledge, find it and appreciate it. But in my point of view.. as human beings.. YOU should get the Worst on the Web award.

I ll keep my site the way it is we ve built it so far without the expert help and we ll keep on building.

Too many animated GIFs (go to Microsoft's and/or Lotus's websites, count the number of animated GIFs you see), too many obnoxious header pictures before getting to the actual content. The navigation bar is good, though.

But Microsoft is rich...., all these people pay us to put their ads on our site. That's how we can take the time to continue to enlarge it and keep it free for all those who want and need the information. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be able to put all that info (now over 10,000 pages and growing). That's the only way I know to support it.

Just visited your site, Ed. While I can appreciate your vast experience as a poster collector, your website is pretty hard on the eyes. There's too much competing movement and colours. This makes it difficult for the newcomer to know where to find (the excellent) information on the page.

I appreciate the honest comments. I've now redone my front page in hopes to make it a little easier to naviagate. I have to leave the ads on (that's income) but tried to make it look a little more professional. Any honest comments and suggestions are appreciated...crude slander will be ignored

I'm sorry for you that they slammed your site that way, but to look at this in a good way....maybe some of the people who visited your site, after seeing it on their site,will become poster collectors. Cool

I initially posted to this site in response to the little weasels at Worst on the Web. They do their best to make it look like this is THEIR forum. But the people on this forum seems too nice to be associated with such self proclaimed experts (or in laymans terms... jerks) Since they have so much time to be able to scan the internet looking for 'terrible' websites only goes to show that they don't have enough skills to be working a real job for a living or they would be busy instead of slamming people who are trying.

And I updated my profile as suggested, in case anyone did want to learn about movie posters
