If you need any help on the mystery door, just PM me.  Or search MuggleNet.com  Grin

Updated the title. Some people may not recognize Ms. Rowling but I'm sure they know Harry Potter.  Grin

I think the description the hidden door is giving now is a clue that the Half Blood Prince is probably Godric Griffindor.  The description is of an old man who is lion-like.

Yeah, that's what I thought first, but I have one problem with the description. Do they have wire-rimmed glasses then (1000 years ago)?

They say it's the new DADA teacher, but with the reference to a lion, he may well be a descendant of Gryffindor.

Now that sounds pretty plausible too.

Ms. Rowling updated her site. It has a new section, forgot what it's called. Haven't checked yet.  Grin

And it's partly hidden, so you might want to check MuggleNet for infos on how to get there.  Wink

Ms. Rowling has updated her site again! The door can now be opened again, but you have to do something before you can get it open (I myself haven't opened it yet). If you want a list on how to open the door, go to Veritaserum http://www.veritaserum.com and scroll down, find the topic about JKR's website.

If you want to know what's inside, I think Veritaserum has it too.

The door opens!!!

If you want to know how to open it and get the secret "gift", highlight the quote below.  Wink

Quote:
To open the door, click on the door you see in the mirror (there's a Christmas tree behind it).

Then, once the door opens, click on the present in front and on the far left. A riddle will pop up, to which the answer is "PRINCE".

After you solve each riddle, click on the next present and another candle on the tree will light up.

The following riddles answers are: "BLOOD", "OTTER", "CORNED BEEF", "BRISTOL", and "HALF".

The star on the tree will now sparkle and light up -- but clicking on it won't get you anywhere.

There's a string to the left of the tree with a bunch of cards hanging off of it. Click on the card that has the star on it, and voila! JKR's message will appear.

And here is JKR's message (I know this has already been posted, but for a sense of completeness I'm posting it again...also because I'm just so glad we've got this news!!)

"I know you all expected this to happen on Christmas day, but I was sure that those of you who celebrate Christmas have better things to on the day itself do than to fight your way into my study, whereas those of you who DON'T celebrate Christmas would definitely prefer not to wait until the twenty fifth so...

'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' is COMPLETED and has been delivered to my English language publishers, who hope to announce the
publication date within 24 hours.

Although I have joked about HP&THBP racing my third baby into the world, I have in fact had all the time I needed to tinker with the manuscript to my satisfaction and I am as happy as I have ever been
with the end result. I only hope you feel that it was worth the wait when you finally read it!

Wishing everybody a wonderful holiday and a happy and peaceful 2005,
With love from,
JK Rowling."
