Pop star Christina Aguilera can now add "mom" to her credits.
 
The Staten Island-born singer gave birth to a baby boy Friday in Los Angeles.
 
The Grammy Award winner, 27, and husband Jordan Bratman, 30, had their little bundle of joy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center about 4 p.m. — just down the hall from where reality star Nicole Richie delivered a daughter an hour earlier.
 
Aguilera's friends and family received news of the birth with a text message saying: "Baby has arrived. Mom and dad are doing well!"
 
Celebrity magazines reported the couple were considering names including Jordan, Max or Jackson Jake.
 
Aguilera tried to keep her pregnancy under wraps in the beginning but pal Paris Hilton made it public in September at an MTV Video Music Awards party in a Las Vegas nightclub.
 
"Congratulations to the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world. You're gorgeous," Hilton said from the stage.
 
The singer publicly acknowledged the pregnancy in November and opened up about motherhood in January's Marie Claire, in which she posed nude.
 
Aguilera and Bratman, a music-marketing exec, tied the knot in California's Napa Valley in November 2005 after dating for three years.

For a while she seemed rather on the wildside, but she's mellowed down quite a bit. It's exciting for her and husband

Good luck to them both. I hope both couples take some basic parenting courses, it can really be helpful for new moms and dads, especially I would think in a celebrity couple where it becomes easy to walk away and let the nanny take care of it when you are frustrated (and babies can be very frustrating sometimes).

I think it depends on the individual.  For AmberD on our site with the belly baring avatar for example, I think it's about mother's pride and excitement, sharing the baby growing inside her with all of us.  Course her's isn't full body nudity either. Wink  
 
For someone like Christina however, I think it's probably a mix of pride, ego and pressure.  Proud to be a mom, but not feeling very sexy and used to being flaunted as a sex symbol.  So, stroking that ego a little by trying to be sexy, and pressure from people around her to do it while they also stroke her ego and tell her it's sexy...and some men may look at that and find it sexy...it takes all kinds.
